Alright, let’s talk about Resin. It’s that thing everyone new wonders about, right? “When should I actually start spending this stuff?” I remember scratching my head about it quite a bit when I first jumped in.

Back then, I was just running around, exploring, doing quests. The Resin bar was just… there. Sometimes it was full, sometimes not. I honestly didn’t pay it much mind at the very beginning. I think I might have spent some randomly on whatever popped up, like those blue Ley Lines for EXP books, because, hey, my characters needed levels. Seemed straightforward enough.
But then you start hearing things, maybe from friends or online chatter. Stuff like “Save your Fragile Resin!” and “Don’t farm artifacts until AR 45!” It gets confusing. You see that Resin capping out at 160, and you feel like you’re wasting it if you don’t spend it, but you also don’t want to spend it wrong.
What I Figured Out Along The Way
So, here’s what I ended up doing, just through trial and error mostly. Early on, say before Adventure Rank 35 or 40, spending Original Resin (the stuff that refills naturally) felt fine for essentials. My thought process was simple:
- Character Levels: Need EXP books? Okay, hit the blue Ley Line.
- Weapon Levels: Need weapon ascension materials? Go farm that specific Domain.
- Talent Levels (Basic): Need basic talent books? Go run those Domains too, when they’re open.
- Weekly Bosses: Definitely started doing these as soon as I could handle them each week. They cost Resin, but the materials felt important even early on.
I tried to prioritize based on what was holding me back right then. If my main damage dealer felt weak, I’d check if it was levels, weapon, or maybe a really basic talent holding them back. I spent the daily Resin on fixing that bottleneck.
Now, about those artifacts and the big AR 45 milestone… Yeah, the advice to wait until AR 45 to seriously farm artifacts is pretty solid. Why? Because that’s when you unlock the highest domain level, guaranteeing you at least one 5-star artifact per run (using 20 Resin, or 40 for a Condensed Resin run).
Before AR 45, the drop rates for the good stuff (5-star artifacts) are really low. You can farm them, and I probably did dip my toes in a few times out of curiosity or desperation for any set bonus, but looking back? It wasn’t super efficient. I got a lot of purple stuff that got replaced pretty quickly after AR 45.
So, my approach evolved: Use the daily regenerating Resin for immediate needs like EXP, Mora (gold Ley Lines!), weapon mats, and talent books before AR 45. Don’t stress too much about perfect artifact sets yet; just use whatever decent stuff you get from bosses or chests. I started saving most of my Fragile Resin (those moon-shaped items) for the AR 45 artifact grind.
Once I hit AR 45, that’s when I really started burning through the saved Fragile Resin, targeting specific artifact domains for the characters I was building seriously. It felt much more rewarding because I was actually getting the 5-star pieces I needed, even if the stats weren’t always perfect first try (or tenth try, let’s be real).

So, yeah. “When can I start spending Resin?” My experience says: spend the daily stuff pretty much immediately on basic progression. Hold onto the Fragile Resin refills until AR 45 if you want the most bang for your buck on artifact farming. Don’t overthink it too much in the early game, just keep your main characters leveled and equipped enough to keep moving forward. That worked for me, anyway.
