Okay, let’s talk about this WWE Columbia thing. You know, that wrestling stuff on the TV. My grandkids, they watch it all the time. Makes a whole lot of noise, I tell ya. I don’t know nothing about this WWE in Columbia, but I know a bit about wrestling. It’s big and it’s loud and it is all over the place.
Wrestling, you see it on the TV, all them big fellas and ladies throwing each other around. They got all them fancy names, too. Diesel, they called one. What kinda name is Diesel? Sounds like something you put in your tractor. And Big Daddy Cool? Pfft, my old man was cooler than him, and he didn’t need no fancy name. They win all those belts, too. World this, Intercontinental that. Back in my day, you won a prize, it was a pie or maybe a good hog. Simpler times, I guess.
- Big fellas, throwing each other.
- Fancy names, like Diesel.
- Winning belts, not pies.
And the ladies, oh boy, they’re somethin’ else. They got this one, Mary Fryer, called her the Bad Girl. She wrestled for that LPWA. Sounds like a government program to me. Probably is. They’re all strong, I give ’em that. Stronger than some of the men I know, that’s for sure. They get all dolled up, makeup and all, then go out there and beat the snot out of each other. Don’t make a lick of sense to me, but hey, to each their own.
Now, this WWE Columbia, I figure it’s just more of the same. Big show, lots of folks yelling. They probably got their own Diesel and Bad Girl down there. Maybe they got different names, though. Gotta keep up with the times, you know. You know what is hot and what is not. This thing is hot, I guess. I don’t get it, but my grandkids sure love it. They know what is hot, I guess. It’s different, that’s for sure. Like that “Too Sweet” thing they do with their hands. What’s that about? My grandson, he does it all the time. Says it’s from wrestling. Weird, if you ask me. But who am I to judge? I don’t have many subscribers to my name like those wrestling folks.
They got all these shows, too. Attitude Era, they called one. Sounds like a bunch of folks with bad attitudes, if you ask me. And this Miss Kitty, doing things she shouldn’t be doing on TV. My lord, what is this world coming to? Back in my day, we had respect. We didn’t go around showing our everything on the television. This WWE Columbia, they might have some of that, too. Who knows these days. It’s all about shock value, I guess. Get people talking, even if it’s bad talk. That’s what the kids like, I reckon.
They got this place, Squared Circle, where folks talk about wrestling. A whole lot of them, too. Must be popular, this wrestling thing. My grandkids spend all their time there. It is a big community. All talking about this WWE Columbia and all them wrestlers. I heard them talking about some highlight reel. It’s got all these scenes from backstage and the ring. Sounds like a mess to me. A whole lot of drama. They got all these scenes, like movies. But it ain’t real, you know? They plan it all out. It’s like them soap operas my neighbor used to watch. A lot of nothing for a long time. All fake, but folks get hooked on it. They need something to do, I guess. Keeps ’em entertained.

- Squared Circle, lots of folks talking.
- Highlight reel, a whole bunch of scenes.
I don’t know much about this wrestling. But I know this, it’s big business. WWE Columbia, it’s probably making a lot of money. They got all these fans, they buy the tickets, they watch on TV. It’s a whole world, this wrestling thing. A world I don’t understand, but it’s a world nonetheless. I mean, where else are they gonna go? It’s not like there’s another big wrestling thing out there. They got the market cornered, I reckon. Smart business, if you think about it. Even if it is a bunch of folks in tights throwing each other around.
So, there you have it. My two cents on this WWE Columbia. It’s probably loud, it’s probably big, and it’s probably full of folks doing things I don’t understand. But hey, that’s the world we live in. A world of Diesels and Bad Girls and Too Sweet hand gestures. A world where wrestling is king, or queen, or whatever they call it. A world where even an old lady like me can have an opinion, even if it don’t mean much in the grand scheme of things. A world that is always changing, always something new. I guess that is a good thing. Keeps things interesting. I am not sure if it is a good thing, but it is a thing for sure.
