Okay, so today I messed around with something called a “willing crossword.” Sounds simple enough, right? Well, let me tell you, it was a bit of a journey.
First off, I had to figure out what the heck a “willing crossword” even is. Turns out, it’s like a regular crossword, but with a twist. Instead of just giving you clues, you gotta use a bit of logic and deduction, and sometimes a clue might apply to more than one word.
I found a puzzle online – just a basic one to start with. Grabbed a pen and paper, ’cause I’m old school like that, and started reading through the clues. Some of them were pretty straightforward, like “a type of fruit” or “a color.” But others were a bit more tricky.
Getting Started
I started filling in the easy ones first, you know, to get some momentum going. Got “apple” in there, and “red” filled a couple of spots. It felt good to see some progress, even if it was just the low-hanging fruit.
Then came the trickier stuff. One clue was “happy to do it,” and another was “ready and able.” I was staring at those blank squares, scratching my head. It took a bit, but then it hit me – both clues were hinting at the same word: “willing”! That was the “aha!” moment, and it felt pretty awesome.
Struggling With Some Words
- “Happy to do it”
- “Ready and able”
- “Eager”
- “Consenting”
With “willing” in place, other clues started to make more sense. I was able to piece together words like “consent” and “agree,” ’cause they kind of fit the same theme. It was like a chain reaction – one word leading to another.
But it wasn’t all smooth sailing. There were a few clues that really stumped me. I spent a good chunk of time just staring at them, trying different combinations of letters, and even taking a break to clear my head. Persistence is key, though, right? Eventually, I managed to crack them, but it definitely took some effort.
Finished!
Finally, after a good hour or so, I filled in that last square. It was such a satisfying feeling to see the whole puzzle completed. It wasn’t a huge accomplishment, but it was a fun little mental workout, and I learned something new.
So, that’s my experience with a “willing crossword.” If you’re looking for a different kind of word puzzle, give it a shot. Just be prepared to use your brain a bit more than usual!
It’s a nice try for me. Hope you enjoy my sharing!
