Man, I’ve been following the Seattle Mariners all season, and it’s been a real rollercoaster. The big question on my mind lately has been, “Will the Seattle Mariners make the playoffs?” So, I started digging into it.
First, I checked out how the MLB playoffs work. It’s all about those Wild Card spots, right? The top three teams in the Wild Card standings from each league get in. Seems simple enough, but the Mariners have been in a tough spot.
I started tracking their games like a hawk. They needed to win, and not just a game here and there – they needed to win pretty much all of their remaining games. I was watching every game, keeping notes, checking scores from other teams. It was intense! I knew they needed some help from other teams, like the Royals and Twins losing.

I also stumbled upon some stuff, I think it was called FanGraphs or something. They had all these stats and predictions. Honestly, it was a bit over my head, but it was clear the Mariners’ chances weren’t looking good even before that.
At the time, they still had two games left in the regular season. I was still holding onto a tiny bit of hope, thinking maybe, just maybe, a miracle could happen. But, with those wins from the Royals and Tigers, that hope was crushed.
