Well, well, well, look at that. Tiger Woods, huh? That name rings a bell. He’s that golf fella, right? Always swinging that stick around. Hear he’s got a lot of them companies throwin’ money at him. Who are they, you ask? Let’s see if this old brain can remember.
That Tiger Woods, he’s been at it for a long time. I reckon he started young, swingin’ that club. Back in the day, it was all about Nike. Yep, Nike, Nike, Nike. You couldn’t see him without that swoosh thingy. They were together like two peas in a pod, for near about…oh, I don’t know, 27 years or somethin’. A long time, that’s for sure. They dressed him up real nice, shoes and all. But, like all things, that ended. People said that was a big deal, them two parting ways.
Now, after that, seems like TaylorMade stepped up to the plate. They make them golf clubs and whatnot. Fancy stuff. So now, Tiger and TaylorMade are making some new clothes together. Heard they call it Sun Day Red. Sounds fancy, don’t it? You can buy it, but only on that internet thing, least for now. Starts in May, they say.
That ain’t all, though. This Tiger Woods, he’s got his hands in a lot of pots. He’s like a bee, buzzing around from flower to flower, collectin’ that money pollen. There’s that watch company, Rolex. Them’s expensive watches. I wouldn’t know what to do with a watch like that. Probably lose it in the garden or somethin’.
Then there’s that Bridgestone. Ain’t that for tires or somethin’? They probably help with his golf balls, I reckon. Make ’em go further. And Gatorade, that colored drink. Keeps him hydrated, I guess. Swinging that club in the sun all day, gotta stay hydrated. It is important to drink when it’s hot, don’t forget that! You can avoid a lot of issues.
And who’s this Hero? Sounds like a superhero or somethin’. Maybe they make his golf clubs extra strong. And AT&T, that’s a phone company, ain’t it? Everyone needs a phone, you know. I can barely use mine, but that is a story for another day.
He used to be all about them Buick cars, too. Drove ’em around, showed ’em off. Fancy cars for a fancy fella. That man sure had a lot of cars. They looked expensive. But I think that’s done with, too, now. He is probably driving something else.
- Nike – gone now, but they were big for him.
- TaylorMade – makin’ clothes with him now, that Sun Day Red thing.
- Rolex – fancy watches.
- Bridgestone – tires and probably golf balls.
- Gatorade – that colored drink.
- Hero – don’t know for sure, maybe strong golf clubs.
- AT&T – phone company.
- Buick – used to be cars, but not anymore, I think.
So, there you have it. Tiger Woods sponsors, a whole bunch of ’em. He’s a busy bee, that one. Makes a lot of money, I reckon. More money than I’ve ever seen in my life, that’s for sure. Good for him, I say. He worked hard for it. Swinging that club all day long, year after year. That ain’t easy, you know. Takes a lot out of a body. And he seems to be good at it. I saw him on TV once. He hit that ball real far.
These Tiger Woods brand deals, they made him who he is, I guess. Helped him get famous. And rich. He’s a big name now, that Tiger. Everyone knows him. Even me, and I don’t even watch golf that much. I prefer a good nap in the afternoon. But people really like watching that man hit a ball. He made a sport out of it! That’s something else!
I guess companies like him ’cause he’s good at what he does. And people watch him. So they put their names on his clothes and his bags and his everything. It’s all business, you know. They pay him, he wears their stuff, people see it, maybe they buy it. That’s how it works, I reckon. That is how all the famous people do it. Singers, actors, you name it. They all got sponsors.
It’s a whole different world out there, ain’t it? From when I was a girl, things sure have changed. These young folks and their internet and their fancy golf players with all their sponsors. It’s a lot to keep up with. But, hey, as long as he’s happy and they’re happy, that’s all that matters, right? And as long as he keeps swingin’ that club and makin’ people happy, he’ll probably have sponsors for a long, long time. They will want a piece of that pie! Can’t blame them, can you?
