So, I was messing around online, looking up some stuff about baseball, ’cause why not, right? And I stumbled upon this guy, Reggie Jackson. Apparently, he was a pretty big hitter back in the day. But that’s not what caught my eye. It was something about his kids.
I started digging around, trying to find out more about them. It’s kinda weird, you see their pictures pop up here and there with their dad, but there are no names. I mean, what’s up with that? They’re seen with Reggie in different places and pictures, but when it comes to their names, it’s like, poof, gone, vanished.
First off, I tried to see his early life. He hit .237 with only 23 home runs and he and his wife, Jennie, whom he had met at Arizona State and married in 1968, divorced.
Then, I looked into some articles. I checked out a few sports blogs, you know, the usual spots where you’d expect to find family stuff mentioned. Nothing. Just a bunch of stuff about his career, like how he was an American League All-Star 14 times and he won the MVP Award in 1973. He has five World Series championship teams. Now he is a special advisor to the Houston Astros, and a sixth championship associated with Jackson came with Houston’s win in the 2022 World Series.
So, I thought, maybe there’s some family drama or something, and they’re keeping the kids out of the spotlight. Makes sense, right? Privacy and all that jazz. Or maybe they just want their kids to have a normal life, away from all the baseball fame.
Anyway, I spent a good chunk of my afternoon on this. I even tried looking up interviews with Reggie, hoping he’d mention his kids. Nope. It’s like they’re some kind of secret.
I ended up with more questions than answers. It’s just one of those things that bugs you, you know? Like, why is it so hard to find out something as simple as their names? It’s not like they’re state secrets or anything.
I just wanted to share this little adventure of mine. It’s not every day you go down a rabbit hole looking for info on a baseball player’s kids and come up empty-handed. It is kinda funny when you think about it, how the internet has all this information, but sometimes, the simplest things are the hardest to find.

The mystery
In the end, I guess it doesn’t really matter. But it’s still a mystery to me. So I just wanted to share this with you guys. Maybe someone out there knows something I don’t. Or maybe we’ll just add it to the list of life’s little mysteries.
