Now, this ain’t no ordinary fish, mind ya. It’s a fish that got snatched right from the pelican’s mouth. Ain’t that somethin’? A fish with a bit of a story to tell, I reckon. They call it “Fish Seized From a Pelican’s Mouth,” but don’t let the name fool ya—this fish ain’t somethin’ you see every day. If you manage to get it, you’ll need it for a special quest. To get it, you need to find Bandit, the pelican that’s real friendly with the docks. Once you find him, you can give him a little interaction, and he’ll give you that fish. Just like that.
Now, don’t go thinkin’ it’s as simple as just walkin’ up and takin’ it, though. No sir. There’s a puzzle to solve, you see. And it’s a bit tricky if you ain’t got a sharp eye. The fish is part of a puzzle in the game, and once you get it, you’ll be on your way to unlockin’ an Exquisite Chest. So, if you want that fancy chest, ya gotta follow the right steps. There’s a food dish by the docks, next to a fellow named Daju. Put that fish right there, and if you’ve done it all right, that chest’ll pop up for ya.
But ya might be wonderin’, what’s so special about this here fish, anyway? Well, it seems that other creatures in the game, like them other birds and critters, sure do treasure this fish mighty much. It ain’t just about completing the quest, it’s about what comes after. I reckon some critters will appreciate ya more if you share this special fish with ‘em. Who knows? Might even make a few friends along the way.
And lemme tell ya, I been thinkin’ about these pelicans too. They got quite the way of workin’ their bellies, don’t they? You ever wondered how a bird swallows a whole fish like that? Well, it’s all in the stomach. You see, they got a two-chambered stomach—first, the acid chamber breaks down the bones and scales of that fish, and then the gizzard grinds it all up into little bits so the bird can digest it. Kinda makes you respect them pelicans a little more, don’t it?
Now, you’ll find these pelicans hangin’ around Chenyu Vale, a bit to the west, if you’re lookin’ for ‘em. And if you ever spot Dadao, that Redbill Pelican, he’ll be the one that you need to get this here special fish from. Ain’t no other bird like him around. Once you’ve got the fish, go ahead and head back to the docks to finish up your business.
All in all, this whole thing about the Fish Seized from a Pelican’s Mouth is just one of those little treasures in the game. It’s not the biggest or the most important part of the journey, but it sure is one of those things that can help you out if you’re lookin’ for that chest, or just tryin’ to make a little bit of progress. So don’t forget to keep your eyes open next time you’re by the docks, and see if you can spot Bandit. That pelican’s got what you need!
