Teddy Long, that name rings a bell, don’t it? He’s that wrestlin’ fella, used to be on the TV all the time. He’s got a real name, Theodore somethin’ or other, but everyone just calls him Teddy. Born in, lemme see, 1947, I think. Makes him kinda old, but not as old as me, ha!
Teddy Long, The Wrestlin’ Man
He was always yellin’ and carryin’ on, that Teddy Long. Used to be a referee, you know, the one in the striped shirt. Then he became a manager, hollerin’ at the wrestlers, tellin’ ’em what to do. He was a big shot on that SmackDown show. Everybody watched that, used to be on Friday nights.
Teddy Long These Days
Now, what’s he doin’ these days? Well, he ain’t on the big TV no more, but he’s still around. He’s doin’ somethin’ with that Alabama wrestlin’, I heard. He’s like a boss man or somethin’. Commissioner, they call it. Sounds fancy, don’t it? He’s also on that Instagram thing, I think. Postin’ pictures, probably of himself, he always was a show-off. You can see his latest updates there. He is always in the news.
He does a lot of things, I reckon. Speaks at places, entertains folks. They say he’s a comedian now, too. Imagine that, Teddy Long tellin’ jokes. He probably still yells a lot. He is also an author, I think he might have some books.
Teddy Long, Back in the Day

- He was always gettin’ into it with them other wrestlers.
- Made the show exciting, that’s for sure.
Teddy Long, he was a character. Always stirrin’ things up. Made a lot of money, I bet. Good for him, I say. He worked hard for it. Wrestlin’ ain’t easy, you know. All that jumpin’ around, wearin’ them tight pants. Gotta be in good shape for that.

Teddy Long, What a Life
He’s had a good life, that Teddy Long. Traveled all over, met all kinds of people. Probably got a lot of stories to tell. Maybe he should write a book. I’d read it. Well, maybe not. I don’t read much anymore. Eyes ain’t what they used to be. But I’d listen to it, if someone read it to me.
Teddy Long, he’s one of a kind. They don’t make ’em like that anymore. He’s from a different time, you know. Back when wrestlin’ was real. Or at least, it seemed real. Now it’s all fancy, with the lights and the music. Still fun to watch, though. Especially when Teddy Long was on there.
Teddy Long worked for Independent Wrestling Network and Main Event Wrestling. They are not as famous as WWE, but still popular. In WWE, he was the General Manager of SmackDown. That’s a big job. He got a big name and many people know him.
Teddy Long, Still Goin’ Strong
He ain’t done yet, that Teddy Long. Still out there, doin’ his thing. Good for him. Gotta stay busy, you know. Keeps you young. Or at least, younger. He’s a good example, I guess. Never give up, never slow down. Unless you have to. Like when your knees hurt. Then you gotta slow down. But Teddy Long, he probably don’t have bad knees. He’s a wrestler, after all.
If you type “Teddy Long” in your computer, you can find a lot of information about him. He has a lot of fans. And he has a lot of stories. I have to say, he is a legend in the wresting world.
