Okay, so folks were talking about these pod vapes, supposed to be simpler. My old setup was getting bulky, a real pain to lug around.

Getting Started
I decided to give one a try. Went down to the local shop, saw a few options. The Caliburn thing caught my eye. They had a black one, looked pretty low-key, which I liked. So, I grabbed the black Caliburn. Didn’t cost an arm and a leg either, which was a plus.
Got home, opened the box. Pretty basic stuff inside: the device, couple of pods, charger cable. Felt really light in the hand, almost cheap, but sturdy enough I guess. Instructions were simple, thankfully. Not much to figure out.
First Use and Daily Grind
Charging it up didn’t take too long. Filling the pod was the next step. Just had to pop the black cap off the pod. A bit stiff the first time, worried I might break it, but it came off. Squeezed the juice in, snapped the cap back on. Let it sit for a bit, like the instructions said. Don’t want to burn the coil straight away, right?
Took the first drag. Button activated, simple press. It was… okay. Decent flavor, not mind-blowing, but definitely better than the cigs I was trying to quit. The draw was alright, kinda tight. Good throat hit, though.
Started carrying it daily. Fit in my pocket easy, no big bulge. That was the main thing for me, convenience. Used it on breaks, walking around. Battery life was decent for its size. Usually lasted me through the workday. Sometimes, if I was hitting it hard, I’d need a top-up charge in the evening. USB charging was handy, could plug it in almost anywhere.
The Ups and Downs
Pods lasted a fair amount of time. Maybe a week, week and a half, depending on the juice and how much I used it. Changing pods was easy, just pull the old one out, push a new one in. Magnetic connection, satisfying click.
- Pros: Simple, small, light, decent flavor for what it is. Easy to use and fill.
- Cons: Battery could be better for heavy users. Pods sometimes had a tiny bit of condensation or minor leaking, nothing crazy but needed a wipe now and then. Finding pods locally became hit or miss after a while.
One time, I dropped it. Fell right out of my pocket onto the pavement. Picked it up, thought “Well, that’s done for”. But nope, just a few scratches on the black finish. Thing kept working. Gotta give it points for toughness, surprisingly.
Final Thoughts
So, the black Caliburn. Yeah, it served its purpose. It was a no-frills device that worked. Did it help me cut back? A bit, yeah. Was it perfect? Nah. Had its little quirks, like the occasional leak or the battery sometimes dying at inconvenient moments. But for a simple, portable little thing, it wasn’t bad at all. Used it for a good long while before eventually moving on to something else. It did its job, plain and simple.
