Alright, so I’ve been putting some hours into MLB The Show 24, specifically Road to the Show. You know how it is, you get drafted, start your journey. Well, I landed on a team, and honestly, it just wasn’t clicking for me. Maybe the fit wasn’t right, or perhaps I just wanted a change. So, I decided I needed to figure out how to request a trade.

First thing I did was jump into the main RTTS menu. You know, the screen where you see your player standing there, check your schedule, and all that stuff. I started looking around for options related to my career or interacting with people. I figured my agent would be the guy to talk to about this.
Sure enough, I found the option, I think it was under one of the tabs like My Career or maybe Interactions. It let me initiate a conversation with my agent. You click on that, and it brings up a dialogue screen.
Once I was chatting with my agent, I scrolled through the conversation options. Had to find the right thing to say. I looked for stuff like expressing dissatisfaction or asking about my future with the team. Eventually, the option came up pretty clearly – something along the lines of “I think I’d be better off on another team” or simply “Request a Trade.”
I selected that option. My agent responded, naturally asking if I was sure about this decision. I confirmed it. Told him I felt a move would be beneficial for my career progression. He basically said, “Okay, I’ll talk to the front office and see what I can do.” He mentioned it wasn’t guaranteed and might take some time.
So, after that conversation, there wasn’t much else to do but wait and keep playing. I just continued through my scheduled games, focused on performing well – figured that couldn’t hurt my trade value, right? You don’t get constant updates usually. You just have to let the game simulate forward.
It took maybe a couple of in-game weeks, playing through the calendar. Then, one day after finishing a game, boom, I got a notification. It was my agent telling me the trade went through! I got moved to a different team. It was pretty straightforward once I found the right menu and talked to the agent. Felt good to get that fresh start I was looking for.
