Okay, folks, let’s dive into my little adventure today figuring out Tiger Woods’ handicap. I’ve always been curious, you know, how good is Tiger, really? So I decided to finally find out.

My Quest for Tiger’s Handicap
First, I started by hitting up Google. I mean, where else do you go when you need to know something, right? I typed in “Tiger Woods handicap” and, boom, tons of stuff popped up.
I spent a good chunk of time clicking through different articles and forums. Some said one thing, some said another. It was kind of a mess, to be honest. I saw numbers all over the place, from like +5 to +8 (yeah, plus handicaps – crazy, right?). It was clear this wasn’t going to be a simple “here’s the answer” kind of search.
Then, I remembered a buddy of mine who’s a total golf nut. He knows everything about the sport. So, I shot him a text. I figured he’d have the inside scoop, or at least point me in the right direction.
He replied pretty quickly, and, bless his heart, he gave me the lowdown. He explained that it’s tough to pin down an exact handicap for pros like Tiger because they don’t always play in regular handicap-tracked events. Makes sense, I guess.
He did say, though, that based on his tournament scores and the courses he plays, Tiger’s handicap is estimated to be somewhere around +6 or +7. And the ‘+’ means he have to give other players at least 6 or 7 strokes. So, to be at zero, he needs to shoot 6 or 7 under par. I was floored. I mean, I knew he was good, but that’s just ridiculous!
So, I went back to my search results, and things started to make a little more sense. I could see how people were coming up with those numbers, even though there wasn’t one official source.
I learned there are no official sources, that is because he is a pro. To get an exact number is almost impossible.
In the end, I didn’t get a definitive, 100% confirmed answer. But I got a pretty good idea, and that’s good enough for me. Plus, I learned a few things along the way, which is always a win.
