Okay, so I was messing around online today, and I got curious about this golfer, Bryson DeChambeau. You know, the one who bulked up like crazy? Anyway, I wanted to see how popular he is on YouTube. Sounds simple, right? Wrong.
First off, I just searched his name, “Bryson DeChambeau,” on YouTube. Tons of videos popped up. Some from major sports channels, others from his own channel, and a bunch of random stuff in between. This was a mess. I just wanted to see his own stuff.
So, I clicked on what looked like his official channel. The name was right and everything. It looked legit. I found the “About” section, hoping to see a subscriber count. Then, I began to scan the page, looking for that magic number.
I scrolled down, and down, and down some more. Lots of info about his foundation, some sponsors, other golfers, all the news about him from The New York Times, and even his Olympic team which he is frustrated with. But no sub count! I saw something mentioning “One year ago this Monday.” What’s that about? Who knows. This was getting frustrating.
I went back to the main channel page. Maybe it was hidden in plain sight? Nope. I clicked through a few videos, thinking maybe it was displayed at the end. Nothing. I even saw some stuff from the Hindustan Times. Still, there are no sub counts.
Then, it hit me. Maybe YouTube doesn’t show subscriber counts anymore? I mean, they change things all the time. So, I started searching around for info on that. I found some articles about channels being able to hide their sub counts, but nothing definitive. There’s a tool that can compare up to 4 players, but that’s not what I want. I also see some stuff about Master Data Services and Integration Services, What’s the hell with that?
Honestly, I gave up. It shouldn’t be this hard to find a simple number. I guess some mysteries are just meant to remain unsolved. Or maybe I’m just not as good at the internet as I thought. It’s crazy how something that seems so easy can turn into such a rabbit hole.
- I started with a simple search.
- Then I looked specifically at his channel.
- I scoured the “About” page.
- I even checked individual videos.
- Finally, I researched if YouTube hides sub counts.
- And… I still don’t know how many subscribers Bryson DeChambeau has.
Conclusion
This whole thing was way more complicated than it needed to be. I just wanted a number, and I ended up on a wild goose chase. But, you know what, I like what DeChambeau is doing with YouTube, allowing people to see the real person behind the athlete. Maybe I should just enjoy the content and stop obsessing over the numbers, right?
