So, I was digging around online the other day, kinda just browsing, you know how it goes. Fell down a bit of a rabbit hole about golfers and their lives off the course. That’s when I bumped into stuff about Gary Woodland and his wife, Gabby Granado.

I started piecing things together from what I could find. It looked like they got married, and then not too long after, maybe early 2017, Gary mentioned they were expecting twins. Big news, right?
Then things got tough
But then, man, just reading about it felt heavy. Seems like less than a month after the announcement, they shared some really sad news. They lost one of the babies because of complications. Just awful, really puts a knot in your stomach thinking about going through that.
Life throws curveballs, though. I kept reading and saw that later on, I think it was August 2019, they welcomed twins again. This time, two daughters. Maddox and Lennox, if I remember the names right. Felt like a bit of light after the hard times, you know?
More recently…
And the hits just kept coming for them, it seems. Just last year, August 2023, Gary himself announced he had a serious health issue. Found out he needed major surgery. Doctors had to do a craniotomy, basically cutting a big hole in his head to deal with whatever was going on. Saw it described as baseball-sized, which is just wild to imagine.
It just makes you think…
You see these folks in the spotlight, playing sports, and you forget they have real lives, real struggles. Gabby Granado, you might just see her name connected to Gary Woodland, the golfer. But when you actually look a bit, you see the real human stuff they’ve navigated.
- Dealing with the loss of a child.
- Welcoming twins later on.
- Supporting a spouse through major brain surgery.
It’s a lot. It’s not just about golf tournaments and trophies. It’s about family, health, loss, and just getting through it all. Definitely gave me something to chew on, seeing that side of things.
