So, I found myself with some downtime the other weekend, just flicking through channels, you know? Nothing really grabbing me. Then I landed on some old wrestling highlight reel, and there he was – Stone Cold Steve Austin. Man, that brought back some memories from the late 90s. Always liked his attitude.

It got me thinking, didn’t he do some movies after wrestling? I seemed to remember seeing him pop up here and there. Curiosity got the better of me, so I decided to actually look into it. Fired up the old laptop, cracked my knuckles, and typed ‘steve austin movies’ into the search bar. Simple enough, right?
Digging Around for Austin Flicks
Well, first thing I got was, unsurprisingly, a ton of wrestling stuff. Documentaries, famous matches, interviews. Had to specify I was looking for his acting work. Added ‘actor’ or ‘film list’ to the search. That did the trick a bit better.
Started seeing some titles pop up. I vaguely recalled one of them, The Condemned. Yeah, that was one I definitely knew he was in. Then there was The Expendables – okay, knew that one too, but he was part of a big group there, easy to forget who was who sometimes.
It wasn’t like searching for Tom Hanks or somebody, where you get pages and pages of critically acclaimed stuff. This was more straightforward action territory, mostly direct-to-video type things it looked like, but hey, sometimes that’s exactly what you’re in the mood for. No heavy thinking required, just some popcorn and maybe a few explosions.
I started jotting down a list, just to keep track:
- The Longest Yard (Okay, small part, but counts!)
- The Condemned
- Damage
- The Stranger
- Hunt to Kill
- Tactical Force
- Maximum Conviction (He teamed up with Seagal on this one, interesting combo)
- The Expendables
There were a few others, seemed like a pretty busy run for a while there. Mostly titles that sound exactly like what you’d expect: tough guy names, action words. Nothing wrong with that, knows his audience I guess.
Watching a Couple
So, with my list handy, I decided to actually watch one. Found The Condemned available pretty easily. Sat down and gave it a go. You know what? For a straightforward action movie, it wasn’t bad. Austin did his tough guy thing well, plenty of action, simple plot. It did the job, killed about 90 minutes quite effectively.
Didn’t delve into ‘Maximum Conviction’ yet, the idea of Austin and Seagal together sounds… potentially hilarious or awesome, haven’t decided which. Might save that for another rainy day.

Anyway, that was my little adventure into the filmography of Stone Cold Steve Austin. Started from a random memory sparked by old wrestling clips and ended up finding a whole bunch of action flicks I didn’t know existed. Pretty typical internet rabbit hole, really, but a fun one this time. If you like no-nonsense action, might be worth checking a couple out yourself.
