Okay, so, I was scrolling through stuff online the other day, and bam, there’s this video of Viktor Hovland trying out some new kicks. The title is “viktor hovland new shoes”, and it caught my eye because I’m always on the lookout for comfy golf shoes.
Apparently, starting from the first round of the 2024 Masters, Hovland’s been sporting PUMA golf shoes. Yeah, he’s officially part of Team PUMA now. And from what I could see in the video, he’s wearing the Puma Ignite Articulate model. So, naturally, I got curious and thought, “Why not give these a shot myself?”
I went and ordered a pair online – same model, obviously. They arrived pretty quick. I pulled them out of the box and tried them on.
- Comfort: First thing I noticed is they’re pretty darn comfortable right out of the box. No breaking-in period needed, which is a huge plus. The cushioning felt great, and I could tell these wouldn’t give me blisters, even after walking 18 holes.
- Stability: They have a solid base, and my feet felt secure when I was swinging. The grip is pretty good too, even on some wet grass I tested them on.
- Style: Let’s be honest, these look pretty slick. They’ve got that modern, athletic vibe that PUMA is known for. I went for the classic white and black, but they have some other color options too.
My Thoughts on the PUMA Ignite Articulate:
Overall, I’m pretty stoked about these shoes. I went and played a full round in them the other day, and they held up great. I walked the whole course, and my feet felt fine afterward. No aches, no pains, nothing. Plus, I felt like I had a good grip on the ground throughout my swing. I mean, if they’re good enough for a pro like Hovland, they’re definitely good enough for me.
I’m thinking of wearing them again for my next round. Maybe I’ll even try out some of the other colorways later on. But for now, these are definitely my go-to golf shoes.
