Alright, so let’s talk about this Alec Bohm fella and how much money he’s makin’. I heard folks talkin’ about it down at the store, somethin’ about a baseball player and a whole lotta cash. Now, I don’t know much about baseball, ya know, but I do know a thing or two about money, or least I know when someone’s got a whole heap of it.
So, from what I gather, this Alec, he plays for the Phillies, that’s a baseball team, right? And they pay him, oh boy, do they pay him! They say he’s gettin’ somethin’ like $4 million this year, that’s 2024. Can you imagine? Four million dollars! Why, with that kind of money, you could buy a whole lotta canned peaches and enough yarn to knit blankets for the whole county!
- Now, they say this $4 million ain’t the whole story.
- Seems like he signed a contract, a fancy paper thing, for somethin’ like $8.1 million for next year, that’s 2025.
- That’s even more than this year!
They also mentioned somethin’ about him makin’ around $748,000 before, but I guess that was chump change compared to what he’s gettin’ now. This new contract, it’s a one-year deal, means they gotta figure out how much to pay him all over again after that. Land sakes, these fellas make more in a year than I’ll see in ten lifetimes!
Someone was sayin’ he makes like $7.61 a minute. A minute! I tell ya, I work my fingers to the bone all day and I don’t see that kind of money. Makes you think, don’t it? What’s he doin’ to earn all that? Hittin’ a ball with a stick? Well, I guess he must be pretty good at it.
This whole contract thing, sounds like they had a bit of a tussle about it. The team, they wanted to pay him less, like $3.4 million, but some folks, lawyers I reckon, they went in and fought for him to get that $4 million. Good for him, I say! If someone’s willin’ to pay you that much, you might as well take it. Can’t fault a fella for makin’ a livin’, even if it’s a whole lot more livin’ than most of us get.
Other Players and Their Pay
And it ain’t just this Alec fella gettin’ the big bucks. They were talkin’ ‘bout some other fellas on the same team. There’s this Brandon Marsh, gets $3.4 million. Then there’s Garrett Stubbs, he gets a bit less, somethin’ like $925,000. Still a whole heap more than I ever seen, mind you.
This Alec, he plays third base and first base, whatever that means. Seems like the Phillies been lookin’ for a good player for those spots since way back in 2002, when they traded some other fella named Scott Rolen. They picked Alec in the draft, that’s how they get these players, and he signed up with ‘em.
They say his net worth, that’s how much he’s got all together, is somethin’ like $7,916,000. That’s a lot of zeros, ain’t it? Makes you wonder what he does with it all. Probably got a fancy house and a car that goes faster than a jackrabbit. Maybe he even got one of them indoor bathrooms, like the ones you see on the TV.
Anyways, that’s the gist of it. Alec Bohm, plays baseball, makes a whole lotta money. More than most of us can even dream of. But hey, good for him, I say. He’s hittin’ them balls and they’re payin’ him for it. That’s the way the world works, I guess. Some folks swing sticks, some folks knit blankets, and some folks just try to keep up with it all.
Now, where did I put my darn knitting needles? All this talk of millions got me thinkin’ I need to start chargin’ more for my blankets!
