Okay, so I wanted to figure out how many pars were made in the 2022 Masters. Sounds simple enough, right? Well, it turned out to be a bit of a rabbit hole, but a fun one!

My Little Data Hunt
First, I just went straight to Google. I typed in something like “number of pars made in 2022 masters”. I figured some sports site would have that stat just sitting there. Nope.
I got a bunch of articles about the winner, Scottie Scheffler, and some general tournament recaps, but nothing with the specific number I was after.
So, I got a little more creative. I thought, “Okay, maybe I can find a full scorecard breakdown.”I changed up my search terms, trying things like “2022 Masters full scorecard” and “2022 Masters hole by hole results.” Still, mostly general results.
I thought, “Maybe the official Masters site would have this hidden somewhere?”I browsed around their site, looking at past tournament data. They have a LOT of stats, very cool, very detailed, but my simple total pars number still not to find.
Then, I hit a snag. To find the data is really a trouble. I can’t find any direct data for all players.
So, I gave up!
Sometimes, the internet just doesn’t have exactly what you’re looking for, even if it seems like it should. Maybe I’ll try digging around on some golf forums later, or see if a super dedicated golf stats site has it. But for now, I’m calling this one a (temporary) defeat! It’s all part of the process, I guess.
