Alright, let’s talk about them birdies at that there big golf thing, the PGA Championship, in 2023, you know, the one where they hit the little white ball all over the place.
So, How Many Birdies Was There?
Well, them fellas, all 156 of ’em, they played a whole bunch of rounds, and let me tell ya, they got a lot of them birdies. Over the whole week, they made, hold on a sec, 1111 birdies! That’s a whole heap of birdies, ain’t it?
- First round: Them boys got 307 birdies.
- Second round: This was the best, they got 391 birdies! Musta been easier that day, or maybe they just ate their Wheaties.
- Third round: Things got a bit tougher, only 155 birdies. Guess some of them fellas got tired or somethin’.
Now, I ain’t no fancy golf expert, but I heard them fellas on the TV talking ’bout how many birdies they get on average. Seems like the best of the bunch, they get around 5 birdies a round. Can you believe that? Five birdies! Them other fellas, not so good, they get about 3 or 4. Still a lot of birdies if you ask me.
Birdies Over the Years
They say in the past years, like in 2022 and 2021, them top players, they was also getting around 4 or 5 birdies a round. Sounds about right. Seems like it’s always around that number. These golfers, they’re pretty good at hittin’ that little ball, I tell ya.
What’s a Birdie Anyway?
Now, for you folks who don’t know, a birdie is when you get the ball in the hole one less time than they say you’re supposed to on that particular hole. Like if it’s supposed to take ya four hits, and you get it in with three, that’s a birdie. It’s a good thing, means you’re playin’ good golf.
More Birdie Talk
I heard tell of two fellas, tied for the best round that week, and between them, they got 15 birdies in one day! Fifteen! That’s more birdies than I’ve seen chickens in my whole life, I reckon. They musta been on fire that day, hittin’ the ball just right.
And you know, them fellas on the tour, they’re gettin’ birdies all the time. They say they get ’em about 15-25% of the time they’re playin’. That’s a lot, ain’t it? They’re makin’ it look easy, but I bet it ain’t. Golf’s a hard game, even if them fellas make it look like a walk in the park.
Where to Find More Birdie Info
If you wanna know more about them birdies and all them golf stats, you can go look it up online. There’s all sorts of places that keep track of that stuff. They got the numbers for all the players, how many birdies they got, how good they are at hittin’ the ball straight, all that fancy stuff. Just search for “PGA Tour Stats” or somethin’ like that. You’ll find it.
Wrapping It Up
So, there you have it. A whole lot of birdies at the 2023 PGA Championship. Over a thousand of ’em! Them golfers, they’re pretty good at gettin’ them birdies, that’s for sure. And that’s all there is to it. It’s just a game, they hit the ball, and sometimes they get a birdie. It’s fun to watch, even if I don’t always understand all the fancy rules and numbers. But the birdies, I get those. They’re good, real good.
Some extra things I heard:
They got all sorts of stats they keep track of for them golfers. How far they hit the ball, how many times they hit it in the fairway, how good they are at puttin’. It’s a lot to keep track of, but them fellas on the TV, they seem to know it all. They talk about it all day long.
And they’re always playin’ somewhere different. Different courses, different states, sometimes even different countries. Must be nice to travel around like that, seein’ all the different places. But I bet it gets tirin’ too, always bein’ on the go.
Anyways, that’s all I got to say about them birdies. It’s a lot of ’em, and them golfers are good at gettin’ ’em. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go feed the chickens.
