Well, let me tell ya somethin’ about this fella, Tiger Woods. Folks make such a fuss about him, always on the TV. Golf this, golf that. But did ya know he’s got himself a whole bunch of brothers and sisters? Yep, it’s true, though not the kind you might think.
Tiger Woods and His Family, A Whole Passel of ‘Em
See, Tiger, he’s the only kid his mama and daddy had together. That’s what they call “sole offspring,” fancy talk if ya ask me. His mama, Kultida, and his daddy, Earl, they just had him, little Tiger. But Earl, he was married before, see? And from that first marriage, he had three other kids.
- There’s Earl Jr., the oldest.
- Then comes Kevin.
- And a sister, Royce Renee, she’s the only girl in that bunch.
So, Tiger’s got two half-brothers and a half-sister. Half-siblings, they call ‘em. Means they share one parent, not both. Now, you’d think they’d all be thick as thieves, right? Family and all. But from what I hear, that ain’t exactly the case.
Not So Close, These Siblings
Seems like Tiger and his half-brothers and sister, well, they ain’t exactly close. Not like peas in a pod, no sir. Heard tell Earl Jr. and Kevin, they ain’t too happy with Tiger. Said he kinda forgot about ‘em, “abandoned” was the word they used. That don’t sound right, does it? Family’s supposed to stick together, through thick and thin.
Poor Kevin, he’s got this sickness, somethin’ called multiple sclerosis. Earl Jr., he says he calls Tiger, lets him know how Kevin’s doin’, but Tiger, he don’t call back. Don’t even pick up the phone, from what I gather. Breaks your heart, it does. A brother’s a brother, no matter if you share the same mama or not.
Tiger’s Own Little Family
Now, Tiger, he went on and got himself hitched to a pretty gal, Elin, she was. Swedish, I think. They had two kids, a girl named Sam and a boy named Charlie. But that marriage, well, it didn’t last. Things happen, I guess. Don’t know all the details, and frankly, it ain’t none of my business. But it just goes to show ya, even famous folks with all their money and fancy livin’, they got troubles just like the rest of us.
From a Little Tyke to a Golfin’ Star
They say Tiger started playin’ golf when he was just a baby, barely walkin’. Six months old, they say! Can you believe that? His daddy named him after a soldier friend, a Vietnamese fella named Vuong Dang Phong. Called him “Tiger,” and the name just stuck. Little Tiger grew up in California, swingin’ them golf clubs, and turned into this big star.
Family Matters, Don’t They Now?
So, there ya have it. Tiger Woods, the golfin’ man, with a complicated family situation. A mama and daddy who only had him, and then a whole other set of brothers and sisters from his daddy’s first marriage. Makes ya think, don’t it? About family, about how important it is to stick together, and about how sometimes things just don’t work out the way you expect. And about that poor Kevin, sick and maybe feelin’ forgotten. It’s a sad thing, family not bein’ close. Makes ya appreciate the folks you got, that’s for sure. Family’s important, plain and simple. And that’s all there is to it.
