Okay, so today I wanted to mess around with getting a digital version of Herschel Walker’s signature. You know, the legendary football player? It’s not something I do every day, but I was curious, and figured why not give it a shot.
First off, I started looking around for a good-quality image of his signature. I just typed into a search engine, you know, something like “Herschel Walker signature,” and I looked for the pictures tab, I needed to find one that was clear enough to work with.
I got the best picture as I could find, and I saved it to my computer. I made a new file to keep all I did for this. Make things organized, right?
Next, I used an image editing software, any popular one will do, as long as you know how to use it. I opened the signature image in it. And the real work began, I carefully traced over the signature with a pen tool, making sure to follow the lines as accurately as possible. It took a bit of time, but I wanted to get it right. And it was hard work, lots of lines, ups and downs.
After tracing, I made a vector, this makes the image good, I can enlarge it or shrink it, it will always be good.
Then, I saved the vector image. I saved two types of files, one is SVG, another is EPS, they are all good for further editing.
Finally, I opened the vector signature in another program that is made for drawing vectors. I did a little bit of cleaning up, made the lines look better, and changed the colors and styles.
And there you have it, a digital version of Herschel Walker’s signature! It’s not perfect, but it’s pretty close. It was a fun little experiment, and now I have a digital copy of his autograph that I can use for various projects. Maybe I’ll put it on a custom wallpaper or something.
