Man, I’ve been scratching my head all day over this crossword puzzle, specifically this one clue: “suffering.” It’s driving me nuts! I’ve been staring at these blank squares for hours, trying to come up with the right word.
So, first, I started brainstorming. I thought about all the words I could think of that mean “suffering.” Jotted down things like “agony,” “pain,” “distress,” and a bunch of others. But none of them seemed to fit the right number of letters. Some of the clues are five letters, some are eight letters, and maybe there are other lengths too.
Then, I decided to hit the internet. I typed “suffering crossword clue” into the search bar, hoping to find some hints. And guess what? I found a ton of websites dedicated to crossword puzzles. They had lists of possible answers, discussions on similar clues, and all sorts of helpful stuff.
- One site suggested answers like “agony,” “torment,” and “misery.”
- Another one listed even more options, including some I hadn’t thought of, like “woe,” “grief,” and “tribulation.”
I spent a good chunk of time browsing through these sites, reading comments and checking out different suggestions. Some of the words I was seeing were longer like “impecuniousness”. I learned that there are a whopping 294 solutions to the crossword puzzle clue “suffering”. But there are also short answers like “cry”.
After diving into a bunch of crossword forums, I even discovered there are around 58 answers to “suffering” with eight letters, and there are 40 answers for the same clue. And this is not the first time someone’s been stuck on this – apparently, it’s been spotted over 20 times in different puzzles!
I even tried using a crossword solver tool on one of the websites. You just type in the clue and the number of letters, and it spits out a list of potential answers. Pretty neat, huh?
But even with all these resources, I still haven’t cracked the code. I have a few words that might fit, but I need to see how they work with the other clues before I commit. This puzzle is turning out to be a real challenge!
Play and learn
Then, I decided to try the daily crossword puzzle. I thought it would be fun to learn some new words, so I started filling in the squares with the clues provided. I have to say, it’s quite enjoyable, I played and solved the entire puzzle.
After completing the daily puzzle, I also checked out a themed puzzle from a crossword archive. It was tough, but I managed to solve a few clues. Overall, it was a great way to pass the time and exercise my brain.
