Okay, so today I decided to dig into some old-school wrestling. I’ve been hearing a lot about the “Stone Cold” Steve Austin vs. Harley Race matches, and I figured it was time to see what the hype was all about.

Finding the Footage
First things first, I needed to find the actual matches. This wasn’t as easy as I thought! It’s not like these are readily available on a streaming service. I had to do some serious searching.
- I started with the usual, some video websites, but the quality was pretty rough, lots of grainy videos and incomplete matches.
- Then I hit up some wrestling forums. Found some folks talking about old tapes and DVDs, but nothing concrete.
Watching the Matches
Finally, I stumbled upon some decent-quality clips pieced together from various sources. It wasn’t perfect, but it was enough to get a sense of the action.
Man, these guys were tough. Harley Race, even older at the time, was a legit brawler. You could tell he’d seen it all, done it all. And Austin, well, he was already showing that “Stone Cold” intensity, that refusal to back down.
- I noticed Race using a lot of suplexes and very straight punches. Classic old-school stuff.
- Austin was bumping like crazy, he’s flying all over the ring. You could see that he was willing to put his body on the line.
My Thoughts
Even though I couldn’t find a perfect, complete match, I totally get the appeal. It’s a clash of generations, a legend like Race against a rising star like Austin.
It’s raw, it’s physical, and it’s a cool piece of wrestling history. I definitely recommend checking it out if you can find some decent footage. I am gonna keep digging, though, I’m determined to find a full, high-quality version of at least one of these matches!
