Okay, so I’ve been trying to get better at predicting football match outcomes. It’s tough, man! But I’m documenting my process, and today’s experiment was Somalia vs. Botswana.

First, I just looked at the FIFA rankings. I mean, that’s gotta count for something, right? Botswana is way higher. That was my first clue.
Then, I tried to find recent match results for both teams. This was harder than I thought. It’s not like finding Premier League scores. I had to dig around on some, shall we say, less polished websites. Eventually, I found some stuff, though.
What I saw was that Somalia has been struggling. Like, really struggling. Lots of losses. Botswana, on the other hand, had a mixed bag. Some wins, some losses, some draws. Nothing super consistent.
My Gut Feeling Process
- Step 1: Check the rankings (Botswana looked stronger).
- Step 2: Hunt down recent results (Somalia losing a lot, Botswana…meh).
- Step 3: Consider the “home advantage.” Was anyone playing at home? I couldn’t even figure that out reliably, to be honest. So, I kind of skipped this.
- Step 4: My super-scientific “gut feeling” calculation (aka, guessing).
So, based on my super sophisticated process (ha!), I predicted a Botswana win. Or maybe a draw. I definitely didn’t feel confident about a Somalia victory.
I’m not saying I’m a genius or anything. This is all just me messing around and trying to learn. It’s more about the process of trying to figure this stuff out than actually being right. Gotta start somewhere, you know?
I wrote down my prediction, and now I just gotta wait for the match to happen. We’ll see if my “research” (and I use that term loosely) pays off!
