Hey everyone, it’s your boy back at it again with another wild night, and let me tell you, tonight was all about that “smackdown taped” life. So, picture this: I heard whispers that WWE was gonna tape an episode of Smackdown instead of airing it live. Why? Cause they’re jetting off to Japan. Yeah, I know, pretty cool, right?
Anyway, I was all over this. I dug around, and it turns out this kind of thing isn’t super rare. They tape episodes ahead of time when they’ve got big events like Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia. This time it was a trip to Japan, though. I was trying to find out the date, and from what I could gather, it is gonna be on July 26th. I’m not 100% on that, but that’s the date I kept seeing pop up.
Now, normally, I catch Smackdown live every Friday at 8 PM Eastern Time here in the US, it’s always on USA Network. But this taped episode, that’s a whole different ball game. They said it will be on at the normal time, so I set a reminder for myself.
And get this – I heard they were gonna drop some extra content on us for this week’s Smackdown. Like a double treat for the fans! I’m not sure what it is yet, but color me intrigued.
So, I spent the whole afternoon just geeking out about this, reading up on past taped episodes, trying to figure out what matches might be on the card. I saw something about Braun Strowman maybe showing up on the Grayson Waller Effect. That would be insane!
I found out that starting from January 3rd, SmackDown will be like 3 hours long! And it’s gonna be on Netflix in some places around the world, along with other shows like NXT and those big events like WrestleMania. That’s huge! I got pretty excited for a minute thinking it would be on Netflix here too, but no such luck.
Anyways, I was buzzing all day, waiting for the show. Finally, 8 PM rolled around, I grabbed some snacks, settled in, and watched the whole thing unfold. It was definitely a different vibe knowing it wasn’t live, but it was still a blast. They had some killer matches, a few surprises, and yeah, it was a good time.
So there you have it. My night with the taped Smackdown. It’s not every day you get to experience wrestling history in the making, even if it’s pre-recorded. I had a great time, and I hope you all enjoyed it too!
