Alright, let’s talk about this Shaq fella, the big basketball guy. You know, the one everyone knows, even old ladies like me. Big fella, real big. Heard he’s religious, or somethin’ like that. Folks talkin’ ’bout it, so I figured I’d chime in, ya know?
So, this Shaq, he wasn’t always this big shot basketball star, no sir. He was just a young’un once, like all of us. Apparently, he went to see some other basketball fella play, some fella named Julius Erving. After that, this Shaq, he decided he wanted to play ball too. Imagine that! One little game changed his whole life. Just like how one good rain can change a whole field of crops.
Now, they say he’s retired. Can you believe it? Big fella like that, all done with bouncing that ball. But he ain’t just sittin’ around, no siree. He’s on TV now, talkin’ about basketball. He’s an “analyst” they call him. Sounds fancy, don’t it? But I bet he’s still just that same boy inside, the one who watched that game and dreamed big.
- He’s a big giver, too, this Shaq. Donated a whole bunch of money, a million dollars they say, to help kids. That’s a lot of money, even for a rich fella. Built some “technology centers,” whatever those are. Sounds like a good thing, though, helpin’ the young’uns learn stuff.
- They also say Shaq was raised Muslim. His momma was Baptist and his stepdaddy that raised him was Muslim.
That’s what I heard anyways.
Speakin’ of religion, that’s what got me talkin’ about all this in the first place. Seems like folks are curious ’bout Shaq’s beliefs. Well, I ain’t no preacher, but I can tell ya this: it don’t matter what you believe, long as you’re a good person. Shaq seems like a good person to me. He helps folks, he’s kind, and he always has a smile on his face. That’s what really matters, ain’t it? Being a good egg. Whether you’re prayin’ in a church, a mosque, or just starin’ at the sky, it’s all the same in the end.
You know, life’s funny that way. You start out as a little kid with a dream, and then you grow up and do all sorts of things. Shaq played basketball, now he talks about basketball. He gives away money and helps kids. And through it all, he’s got his beliefs, whatever they may be. Just like the rest of us. We all got somethin’ we believe in, somethin’ that keeps us goin’.
I don’t know much about basketball, to be honest. I prefer watchin’ the chickens peck around the yard. But I know a good person when I see one. And from what I hear, Shaq’s a good person. He’s a big fella with a big heart, and that’s somethin’ to be admired, no matter what you believe. So there you have it, my two cents on this Shaq fella and his religion, or whatever they’re callin’ it these days. Just remember to be good to folks, and the rest will sort itself out.
Folks keep asking what religion he is. I don’t know much about Muslim or Baptist but he seems like a good man no matter what and that’s what counts.
And that’s all I gotta say about that. Time for me to go feed the chickens.
