Well, let me tell ya ’bout this Seowon Hills place, at that Seowon Valley Country Club. It’s in Paju, Gyeonggi, South Korea, that’s what they told me. Don’t rightly know where that is exactly, sounds far though.
They say this place got started in the year 2000. Imagine that! Some fellas, Seth Raynor and Charles Banks, they built it. Big shot golf architects, they call ‘em. Musta been real smart with their yardsticks and such.
Now, they got this Valley course. Folks say it’s real purdy, with nice green grass, real nice and tidy they keep it, ya know. And some tricky spots to hit your ball over, so you gotta be thinkin’ while you’re playin’. They got bunkers too, lots of ‘em, 81, they say. Makes it tough, gotta be real good to play there I reckon.
What’s there to do?
- Well, there’s golf, of course. That’s the main thing. Big ol’ course, plenty of room to swing your stick.
- And they got these charts, yardage charts they call ‘em. Shows ya how far you gotta hit the ball. Some folks like lookin’ at them on their phones, fancy that! They even got 2D and 3D pictures, like lookin’ at a real picture only on your phone screen.
They make a big deal outta this LPGA thing they had there. Only place in Korea they had it, so it must be fancy, ya know? Them ladies hittin’ the ball all over the place. Good on ‘em, I say.
Now, I heard tell you can book a time to play there without payin’ extra. Just pay for the playin’, I guess. That’s good, ain’t it? No need to spend extra money for nothin. They say you can book it at over 1,400 places, whatever that means.
Where is it again?
They told me it’s at San 48-1 Ballang-ri, Gwangtan-myeon, Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do, 413-852, South Korea. That’s a mouthful, ain’t it? Sounds complicated. Probably gotta take a long car ride to get there.
Is it any good?
Well, I ain’t been there myself, but folks seem to like it. They say it’s purdy and the golf is good. If you like hittin’ little balls with a stick, then it might be right up your alley. Me? I prefer sittin’ on the porch with a glass of iced tea, but to each their own, I always say.
So, that’s the lowdown on Seowon Hills at Seowon Valley Country Club. It’s a golf place, far away, with lots of sand and pretty grass. If you got the money and the time, maybe you’d like it. Me? I’ll stick to my porch.
Some things I heard about the course:
They say it’s a “strategic” course, meaning you gotta think a lot when you play. Not just whacking the ball, I guess. And those bunkers, they say they’re “threatening.” Sounds scary! Guess you gotta be real careful where you hit your ball.
And they keep it real nice and clean, the fairways they call ‘em, like a freshly mowed lawn. That’s nice. Nobody wants to play golf in the weeds, right?
Anyways, that’s all I know about it. Hope it helps ya if you’re thinkin’ ’bout goin’ there. Just remember, it’s a long way to go just to hit a little ball around.
