I’ve been messing around with different putters lately, trying to find something that just feels right, you know? And that’s when I stumbled upon SeeMore putters. Heard some good things, saw some videos, and figured, why not give it a shot?
Getting My Hands on One
So, first things first, I had to actually get one of these things. I looked around, found a used FGP Mallet model online. It wasn’t brand new or anything, but it was in decent shape, and the price was right. Seemed like a good way to test the waters without breaking the bank.
First Impressions
When the putter arrived, I was pretty curious about this whole “RifleScope Technology” thing they talk about. Basically, you line up the shaft to cover a red dot on the putter head, and that’s supposed to help with alignment. Seemed kinda gimmicky at first, but I was willing to keep an open mind.
Taking it to the Course
Of course, the real test is on the green. I took it out to my local course, hit the practice green, and started rolling some putts. First few, I was just trying to get a feel for the weight and the balance. It’s a mallet, so it felt a little different than my old Ping Zing, but not in a bad way.
The Alignment Thing
Now, about that alignment system. Honestly, it took some getting used to. I’ve always just kind of eyeballed it, but with the SeeMore, you gotta make sure that red dot is hidden. At first, I was probably overthinking it, but after a while, it started to feel more natural.
Putting it to the Test
After warming up, I played a round with it. And I gotta say, I was pleasantly surprised. My distance control felt pretty solid, and I was definitely sinking more putts than usual. That alignment system, as weird as it seemed at first, actually seemed to be helping.
The Verdict
- Looks: It’s got a classic look, nothing too flashy. I dig it.
- Feel: The weight and balance are good. It feels solid in your hands.
- Performance: This is where it really shines. My putting definitely improved.
- The Red Dot: It works. It might take some practice, but it really does help with alignment.
Overall:
So, yeah, I’m a fan. I paid way less than the $500 I saw mentioned in some reviews, and I think I got a great deal. It’s definitely a different experience than other putters I’ve used, but in a good way. I mean, it was started by a bunch of golf pros back in ’98, so they must have been on to something. I’m gonna keep rolling with it for a while and see how it goes. If you’re looking for something new to try, I’d say give SeeMore a shot. You might be surprised.
