Alright, so I decided it was time to really get into the major PGA wins, you know, the big ones that everyone talks about. I’ve always been a casual golf fan, but I wanted to dive deeper. So, I started this little project of mine.
First off, I got myself a notebook. Yeah, an old-school paper one. I figured if I’m gonna do this, I might as well do it right. I started jotting down the names of all the majors: The Masters, The PGA Championship, The U.S. Open, and The Open Championship. Just seeing them all written out got me pumped.
Then, I hit the internet, but not just for the winners’ names. I wanted the stories, you know? Who were these guys? What were their struggles? Their big moments? I spent hours reading articles and watching old tournament footage. I started with The Masters because, well, it’s The Masters. I looked up all the past winners, their scores, and any cool stories I could find. I filled pages of my notebook with notes. Who won it multiple times? Who had a crazy comeback? I wrote it all down.
- For The Masters, I noted down the multiple-time winners, like Jack Nicklaus.
- For The PGA Championship, I dug into stories of players who won it more than once, like Brooks Koepka recently.
- The U.S. Open section got filled with names like Tiger Woods and the years they dominated.
- And The Open Championship, I made sure to include those historic wins, especially from players like Tom Watson.
After I felt like I had a good grasp on The Masters, I moved on to The PGA Championship. Same process. I learned about the different courses, the crazy weather conditions they sometimes play in, and of course, the winners. I kept adding to my notebook, making charts to compare players across different years. It was getting pretty thick!
Next up was The U.S. Open. Man, some of those stories are wild. Underdogs winning, huge upsets, it’s all there. I made a timeline for this one, just to see how the winners evolved over the years. Then, I tackled The Open Championship. The oldest one. The history there is just insane. I got lost in stories of British legends and their wins. My notebook was practically bursting at this point.
I didn’t stop at just the winners, though. I started looking into the courses themselves. Why is Augusta National so famous? What makes the Old Course at St. Andrews so special? I ended up with pages of notes on course designs, famous holes, and even the grass types. I know, I know, it sounds crazy, but it’s actually pretty fascinating.
Finally, after weeks of this, I decided to create a massive spreadsheet. I transferred all my handwritten notes into it. I color-coded it and everything. It felt like such an accomplishment, seeing it all organized like that. I even printed it out and stuck it on my wall. Yeah, I’m that guy now.
So, that’s my journey into the world of major PGA wins. It was a lot of work, but honestly, I loved every minute of it. Now, I’ve got this awesome resource, and I feel like a walking encyclopedia of golf history. Or at least the majors, anyway. It’s pretty cool to share with my buddies when we are talking about golf. We had lots of fun.
