Alright, listen up, y’all. Let’s talk about this wrestling stuff, this WWE Raw, like them young’uns call it. I don’t know much about fancy names or moves, but I can tell you what I saw, and if it was any good or not.
So, first off, they had this Survivor Series: WarGames thing. Sounded like a whole lotta noise to me. And this fella, CM Punk, he was there. Folks seem to make a big deal outta him. He teamed up with that Roman Reigns fella, and they won against some other guys, Solo Sikoa and his bunch. Seemed like a big to-do, all that screamin’ and fightin’. They said it was “explosive,” well, I guess it was loud enough, like firecrackers on the Fourth of July.
Then there was this Raw show. Seemed like a whole lotta talkin’ and walkin’ around backstage. They showed this Sami Zayn guy. He’s always got that worried look on his face, like he lost his chickens or somethin’. And that Seth Rollins, he struts around like a rooster in a henhouse.
- One thing I did like was seein’ them New Day boys. They always seem to be havin’ a good time, dancin’ and clappin’. But then, wouldn’t you know it, things got sour. Them two fellas, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston, they turned on their buddy, Big E. Can you believe it? Ten years they been together, and they just kick him out like an old mule. That ain’t right. I always say, you stick with your kin, you stick with your friends. Don’t go turnin’ on ’em like that.
- They had a bunch of other matches, I reckon. Some fella named Otis was in a mixed tag team match. Six people fightin’ at once! That’s just too much for my old eyes to keep track of. Too much jumpin’ and flippin’ around. I like it when they just grab a hold and wrestle, like they used to do back in the day.
They kept talkin’ about “grades” and “analysis.” I don’t know nothin’ about that. All I know is if it was entertainin’ or not. And some of it was, and some of it wasn’t. Too much jabberin’, not enough punchin’, if you ask me.
They said this Raw show was a “fallout edition” from that Survivor Series thing. Well, I guess that means everybody was still riled up from the fightin’. They also talked about some Crown Jewel thing comin’ up. Sounds like another big ol’ wrestling show. They sure do like to wrestle these days. Always somethin’ goin’ on.
Monday Night Raw, they call it. Broadcasts live from some place called the Angel of the Winds Arena in Everett, Washington. Never been there myself. Heck, I ain’t been much further than the county line. But they say you can watch it on somethin’ called the USA Network, or stream it on Peacock. Sounds fancy. We just had that ol’ rabbit ears antenna back in the day.
Anyways, that’s what I saw. Some good, some bad, some just plain confusing. But that’s wrestlin’ for ya. Always somethin’ to talk about, even if you don’t understand half of it. Just like life, I reckon.
One more thing, they talk too fast, these fellas calling the matches. I can hardly understand half of what they’re sayin’. They use all them big words and go on and on about this and that. Just tell me who’s winnin’ and who’s losin’, that’s all I care about. And maybe slow down a bit, for goodness sake. My old ears ain’t what they used to be.
And another thing, all them fancy outfits they wear. Sparkles and glitter and all sorts of colors. Back in my day, wrestlers wore plain trunks and boots. Now they look like they’re goin’ to a costume party. I guess times have changed, huh? But it sure is somethin’ to see, all that flash and flair. Just makes it a little harder to take ‘em serious when they’re all dolled up like that.
But hey, I ain’t complainin’. It’s still entertainin’, even if I don’t always get it. Just somethin’ to watch on a Monday night, you know? Better than starin’ at the wall. And sometimes, just sometimes, they do somethin’ that makes me jump outta my seat and yell. And that’s worth the price of admission, right there.
