Okay, so I jumped into Squad Busters, like usual, trying to figure things out as I went. You know how it is with these new games.

My First Look at the Plaza Stuff
Pretty quickly, I started noticing all these bits and pieces you could apparently put in your Plaza area. Statues, flags, weird looking plants, fountains, you name it. My first thought was, “Alright, what’s the deal here? Do these things give me extra coins? Do they buff my characters? There’s gotta be a catch, right?” You always look for the gameplay advantage first.
So, I started tapping around. I placed a few of the basic ones you get early on. I checked their descriptions, looked for any little icons indicating a boost. Nothing. Absolutely zilch. I spent a good chunk of time just poking at these things, moving them around, thinking maybe I missed a button or an upgrade screen somewhere.
Digging Deeper (or Trying To)
I went through the menus, the shop, even checked the character upgrade paths, thinking maybe unlocking certain characters gave the decorations a purpose. Still nothing concrete. It felt kinda weird, having these items you earn or unlock that seemingly did… well, nothing important.
I thought maybe it was like some other base-building games where decorations slightly increase resource production or happiness or whatever. But Squad Busters isn’t really that kind of game, it’s more about the matches themselves. So that theory didn’t hold up either.
The “Aha!” Moment (Sort Of)
After playing for a bit longer and unlocking more stuff, I started seeing more decorations pop up as rewards, sometimes from the Gem Pass, sometimes from achievements I think. And I saw other players’ plazas looking way more decked out than mine.
That’s when it kinda clicked. There isn’t some secret gameplay boost. It seems like the main point, maybe the only point, is just to make your Plaza look cool. It’s bragging rights. It’s like customizing your profile or character skin in other games.
- You unlock ’em.
- You place ’em where you want.
- Your Plaza looks less boring.
Basically, they’re cosmetic. They show off your progress, maybe how long you’ve been playing, or what events you’ve participated in. They give you something visual to work towards, a way to personalize your little corner of the game world. So, don’t stress about finding some hidden power-up from that fancy statue – just put it where you think it looks nice. That’s what I ended up doing. Just making the place look a bit more lived-in, you know?
