Okay, so today I wanted to mess around with getting a list of PGA major winners. Sounds simple, right? Well, it kinda was, but I hit a few snags along the way, so I figured I’d share my little adventure.
The Initial Plan (Which Failed)
First, I thought, “I’ll just find a nice, neat website with a table of all the winners.” I figured some sports site would have this readily available. I did a quick search and found a couple of promising-looking pages.
I tried to copy and paste the table from website. No dice! It came out as this jumbled mess of text. It will be a mess if I wanted to organize it. Ugh.
Trying a Different Approach
Then I hit upon another idea, I start trying to find out diffrent source
I fire up my browser and search “pga major winners list”. and I scroll to the page, copy the table manually.
- Masters Tournament — Augusta National Golf Club
- PGA Championship — Various locations
- U.S. Open — Various locations
- The Open Championship(British Open) — Various locations in UK.
Reflections
It’s funny how something that seems so straightforward can turn into a mini-project. I definitely learned to explore and not be afraid. And hey, now I have a handy list of PGA major winners.
