Okay, here’s my attempt at a blog post, following your instructions and example:

So, I wanted to create this “palmeiras vs juventude timeline” thing. I had no clue where to even start, to be honest. It seemed simple enough, you know? Just… a timeline. But actually doing it? Different story.
First, I googled around, just kinda randomly searching for “soccer timelines” or “football match timelines.” I found some examples, but nothing that I could just copy and paste. I really needed to build this up, ground zero, nothing premade, all hand work!
The Data Hunt
I figured I needed the actual events, right? Like, goals, substitutions, yellow cards… the whole shebang. I found a few sites that had match stats, but I use my eye to check them one by one. It was a bit of a pain, some sites had the info spread out, others made it hard to copy.
I start to think, I need this stuff in order. I can’t just be jumping all over the place.
- Gather all data: every goal, every sub, everything.
- Put it in order: Like, minute by minute. This took the longest.
Making it Look… Okay?
Next, I just made a table. I literally opened up a text editor and just started typing, I do this kind of stuff with hand, from the scratch.
It was messy, but hey, it was a start! I mean, who needs fancy tools when you can just… type it out? That’s how I figure, at first, I think I was too naive.
I realized pretty quickly that just a plain text file wasn’t gonna cut it. No one wants to stare at a wall of text. So I played around with some formatting. I use bold for the times, and a little bit of spacing to make it, you know, readable.

It’s not perfect, I use my eyes to do final check, make sure there are no duplicates and missing data. But it’s mine, and I built it from scratch. That’s gotta count for something, right?
