So, I’ve been messing around with this whole “maverick merchandise” idea. It all started when I saw a really cool, unique t-shirt online. I thought, “Hey, I could totally make something like that… or maybe even better!”

First, I brainstormed some ideas. What kind of designs did I want? What kind of products? I scribbled down a bunch of stuff – funny slogans, weird drawings, you name it. It was a total mess, but it got the creative juices flowing.
Getting Started with Designs
Then, I dusted off my old drawing tablet. I’m no professional artist, but I can doodle decently enough. I started sketching some of my ideas, trying to get them to look somewhat presentable. I used a simple, free drawing program, nothing fancy.
- Spent hours redrawing the same lines over and over.
- Got frustrated when my hand wouldn’t cooperate.
- Accidentally deleted a whole design and had to start again (ugh!).
After I finally ended up with something that that was kind of “okay” I moved to the next challenge finding a place to actually print my designs.
Figuring Out the Production
I needed to print my drawings, that I knew. But with a lot of trial and error I realized I need a place that could handle small batches, since I wasn’t exactly planning to become a clothing magnate overnight.
This part took some serious research. I compared prices, read reviews, and sent a bunch of emails. It was a bit of a headache, to be honest.
Finally, I picked a print-on-demand service. It seemed like the easiest option, since they handle all the printing and shipping. I uploaded my designs, chose some products (t-shirts, mugs, stickers), and crossed my fingers.
It’s actually working!
I made a few test orders to see how everything looked. The first shirt I got was… well, let’s just say it wasn’t perfect. The colors were a bit off, and the print was slightly crooked.
But hey, that’s part of the process, right? I tweaked the designs, adjusted some settings, and ordered another batch. This time, it was much better! I was actually pretty proud of how it turned out.
So, that’s where I’m at now. I’ve got a few designs up, and I’m slowly learning the ropes. It’s definitely been a learning experience, with plenty of bumps along the way, but it’s also been pretty fun. Who knows, maybe this “maverick merchandise” thing will actually go somewhere!
