Okay, so today I tried to get in on that “Monopoly Go Up and Away” tournament thing. I figured, why not? I’ve been playing Monopoly Go a bit lately, so I thought I’d see how I stacked up against other players.
First thing I did was try to understand how these tournaments even work. Seemed like the whole point was to rack up a ton of points, more than anyone else, so you could climb that leaderboard. The best way to do that, as far as I could tell, was to use those dice roll multipliers smartly.
I also tried to figure out what I should be landing on. I didn’t see any specific instructions for this tournament, but it looked like there were a few different “Milestone Events” where you could land on specific tiles like Railroad or Chance to get closer to prizes. So, I figured I’d aim for those as much as possible.
- Build, Build, Build: I noticed that building houses and hotels seemed like a good way to get more income and maybe trigger some bonus stuff. I made sure to develop properties whenever I had the chance.
- Multiplier Madness: The tip I found online about using multipliers when you’re six, seven, or eight tiles away from a target seemed to make sense. I mean, those are the most common dice rolls, right? So I started doing that, especially when I was close to a Railroad or something.
- Play with Friends: I had a couple of friends who were also playing, and we noticed that playing together seemed to make the game more fun, if not more profitable.
So, how did I do? Well, I didn’t win. I’m still learning the game, to be honest, and it felt like some of the other players were way ahead of me. It was a good learning experience, though. I feel like I have a better grasp of how to use those multipliers now, and I’m getting the hang of what tiles to aim for.
I also joined that Monopoly_GO community online. Seems like a good place to swap tips and maybe find more friends to play with. I saw some folks talking about strategies for winning these tournaments, so I’m going to try to incorporate some of their ideas next time.
All in all, it was an interesting experiment. I’m not sure I’m going to become a Monopoly Go tournament champion anytime soon, but I’m definitely getting better. And hey, it’s kind of fun trying to outsmart everyone else, even if I’m not quite there yet.
