Okay, so I was messing around with some data visualization stuff, and I had this idea to map out all the MLB ballparks. I’m a huge baseball fan, so it seemed like a fun little project. I wasn’t really sure where to start, but I figured it couldn’t be that hard, right?
First things first, I needed a list of all the ballparks. I mean, you can’t map something if you don’t know what you’re mapping. I did a quick search and that gave me the names and locations easy peasy.
Next, I needed to figure out how to actually make the map. I’ve dabbled a bit so I gave it try. It took a bit of trial and error, some copy and pasting, and finally, I had something that looked like a map! It wasn’t pretty, but it showed all the ballpark locations.
Getting Fancy (or Trying To)
Now, I wanted to make this thing look a bit nicer. The plain old map I had was a total snooze-fest. It was time to add the team names and their corresponding stadiums.
And there you have it! My very own MLB ballpark map. It’s not going to win any design awards, but it was a fun way to play around, and I actually learned a few things along the way. Maybe I’ll add some more features later, like team logos, stadium capacities, or even the year each park opened. The possibilities are endless!
