Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this “air raid offense” thing in my football game lately, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I figured I’d share my experience, from total confusion to kinda-sorta getting the hang of it.

The Beginning: Total Chaos
First, I picked a playbook that supposedly used this air raid system. I honestly didn’t know what I was doing. I just saw a bunch of passing plays and thought, “Cool, let’s throw the ball a lot!” I jumped into a game, and… disaster. My quarterback got sacked, like, a million times. Interceptions everywhere. It was a mess.
Figuring Stuff Out (Slowly)
So, I started watching some videos, reading some stuff online. It’s all about quick passes, spreading the field, and reading the defense. I learned that you don’t just chuck it deep every play (which is what I was doing, obviously). It’s way important to quick release. There’s more short passes.
- Short Passes: I started focusing on short, quick routes. Slants, hitches, stuff like that.
- Reading the Defense: This is the hard part. I’m still not great at it, but I started paying attention to where the safeties are. If they’re deep, I throw short. If they creep up, I might try a deeper pass.
- Hot Reads: If I see a blitz coming, I need to have a receiver running a quick route that I can dump the ball off to. This took some practice.
Practice Makes…Better?
I spent a bunch of time in practice mode, just running plays over and over. I started to get a feel for the timing of the routes. I started to recognize certain defensive looks. I even started completing some passes consistently!
Still a Work in Progress
I’m definitely not an expert yet. I still throw plenty of interceptions. My quarterback still gets sacked sometimes. But it’s way better than before. I’m actually having fun with it now, and I’m seeing some success.I’m scoring more points, which is the whole point, right?
It’s all about keeping practice, the more you try, the more you get familiar with the system.
I am getting better!
