- Next, I checked out architectural websites. Places like ArchDaily and Dwell are goldmines for inspiration. Focused on designs with bold lines, open floor plans, and a touch of the unexpected.
- Then came the “personality” research. I tried to imagine what would appeal to a guy who owns a football team. Think practical, comfortable, but with a definite sense of power and style.

- Raiders Theme (Subtle): No need to go overboard with the silver and black. But a few strategically placed Raiders artifacts? Absolutely. Think a signed helmet or a vintage team poster.
- Outdoor Space: A pool is essential. And a spacious patio for grilling and chilling with friends. Maybe even a fire pit for those late-night chats.
Putting It All Together:
Okay, so I had my elements. Now it was time to visualize things. I’m no architect, but I can sketch a bit. So, I grabbed my notebook and started doodling. Just rough layouts, floor plans, nothing fancy. It was more about getting the ideas out of my head and onto paper.
Then I moved on to some basic 3D modeling software. Just to get a better sense of the spatial relationships. Again, nothing professional. Just enough to see how the different elements would fit together.
The Final “Design”:
What I ended up with was a sort of modern, minimalist mansion. Think clean lines, dark gray exterior, large windows overlooking a killer pool. Inside, a huge open living area with a massive TV and a sleek bar. A game room with a pool table and a pinball machine. And of course, a few carefully chosen Raiders touches.
Was it a perfect replica of what Mark Davis would actually build? Probably not. But it was a fun exercise in design thinking. And it got me thinking about what I’d want in my dream house. Maybe someday, right?
