Okay, so I’ve been seeing a lot of talk online about Mahomes vs. Russell Wilson, and who’s the better quarterback. I decided to dig into the stats myself and see what all the fuss was about. It is the off-season, after all, gotta have something to debate!

First, I pulled up both of their career stats. You know, passing yards, touchdowns, interceptions, completion percentage, all that good stuff. Just getting the raw numbers in front of me was the first step.
Then, I started comparing their yearly performances. I wanted to see how each of them progressed throughout their careers. Were there any major dips or spikes? Did one start stronger and then fade, or vice-versa?
- I looked at their playoff records, too. How did they perform when the pressure was really on? That’s a big deal for any quarterback.
- I also considered the teams they played on. Did one have a better offensive line? Better receivers? That can definitely impact a QB’s stats.
- I made note that their play styles are so diffrent.
After looking at all the numbers, honestly, it’s still tough to pick a clear winner. They’re both incredible talents. It got complicated.
My Conclusion (For Now!)
Mahomes has that insane arm talent and those crazy no-look passes. He’s a highlight reel machine. Wilson, he’s more of a magician, escaping sacks and making something out of nothing. It will be interesting to see how Mahomes grows with the Chiefs over the years. And Wilson is now the old dog on a young Broncos team. So, who you pick, the Gunslinger or the Old-Man?
I realize I’m not giving a definitive answer here. I just wanted to see for myself what the stats said and share that little journey. At the end of the day, it’s about, and that’s okay! Let the debate rage on!
