Today, I wanna talk about my recent journey with these new boxing gloves I picked up, the ONX gloves. It’s been a bit of a ride, so let’s get into it.
First off, I started looking for new gloves ’cause my old Everlast ones were, well, toast. I mean, I had worn them out completely. So, I hit up the local sports store, and these ONX gloves just caught my eye. They looked pretty slick, and the guy at the store said they were top-notch, made with some quality materials. It got me curious, so I decided to give ’em a shot.
When I got them home, I immediately tried them on. The first thing I noticed was the fit. To figure out the right size, I measured my hand. I wrapped a tape measure around my knuckles, got the measurement, and then checked the size chart on the ONX website. It was a bit of a process, but I wanted to make sure they fit just right.
The ONX gloves definitely felt different from my old Everlast ones. They have this “cool mesh palm” thing that’s supposed to help with ventilation. I started using them for my heavy bag workouts, and I gotta say, my hands did feel a bit cooler. But it wasn’t just about staying cool, these gloves felt solid.
- Fit: Snug and secure, after I figured out the sizing.
- Feel: Solid and supportive, with decent padding.
- Ventilation: The mesh palm thing actually works, my hands don’t get as sweaty.
I kept using them over the next few weeks, hitting the heavy bag, doing some sparring. I even compared them to some other gloves my buddies at the gym were using, like those Orion Gel Head Guard. The ONX gloves held their own. They provided good protection, and I felt like I could really throw some punches without worrying about hurting my hands.
Now, I’m not saying these are the best gloves ever, or that they’re gonna turn you into the next Mike Tyson. But, from my experience, they’re a solid choice. They’re comfortable, they offer good protection, and they seem pretty durable. I ended up pretty happy with my purchase. It was a good move switching from those worn-out Everlast gloves. If you’re in the market for new boxing gloves, the ONX ones are definitely worth checking out.
