This here’s about that Leonard Marshall fella, the football guy. He was a big shot, played for them New York Giants. Big, strong fella, that Leonard. Played for a whole 12 years. That’s a long time, you know? They called him an All-Pro, whatever that means. Must be good, though.
He was number 70, they say. Wore that number on his back. Played on the line, pushin’ and shovin’ those other fellas. He was a defensive end. That’s what they called it. He was good at stoppin’ the other team, I reckon. You know, like a wall, he was just that tough.
Them Giants, they won some big games. Some bowls, they called ’em. Super Bowls. Two of ’em, they won, back in, when was it? 1986. That Leonard, he was there. He was a big part of it, I bet. He was all the time hitting the other team hard, I heard. They made the other team scared, real scared.
I heard he was a Defensive End for some other team, too. Some Redskins. Washington Redskins, I think it was. Musta been good to play for two teams. They say he was born on October 22, 1961. He’s gettin’ up there in years now, ain’t he? Just like me. Time sure does fly.
They say he went to some college. Pittsburg State. Don’t know where that is. But he musta learned somethin’ there, to be that good at football. Born in a place called Franklin, I hear. Wonder where that is, too. Lots of places I ain’t never been. This world is a big place, ain’t it?
This one time, the Giants, they was losin’. Nine minutes and 42 seconds left on the clock, I heard someone say. They was down 13 to 9. That Leonard Marshall, he must have helped them. That’s what those defensive ends do, help their team win. They sure did win two Super Bowls. You gotta be good for that.
Heard someone talkin’ about how good he was, this Leonard fella. Said he was a real good player. Helped them Giants win a lot of games. He was important, that’s for sure. They don’t just let anybody play in them big games. You gotta be tough.

Leonard Marshall, that’s a name I heard a lot. They said he was somethin’ else. You gotta remember the guys that win, you know? He surely did win with his Giants. All those games, and the two big ones, too. He must be proud of that, I reckon.
Defensive End, that’s what he was. Pushin’ and shovin’, stoppin’ the other team. He was born in 1961, an old timer now. And he played for 12 long years. He must have been somethin’ to watch. I bet he was tired after all that playin’.
He was a big deal, that Leonard. They wrote about him, talked about him. All that stuff. He was good, real good. That’s all I know. Just a good football player, that Leonard Marshall. Heard he was one of the best, maybe the best defensive end. I don’t know much about football, but I know that Leonard Marshall was surely a good player and he helped his team win a lot.
I bet he was strong, real strong. You gotta be strong to play that game. All that hittin’ and pushin’. Not for me, no sir. But that Leonard, he was made for it. He did it for a long time. 12 years is a long time to be playin’ that game, real long time.

That means the whole team was good, not just one player. He was a big part of those teams, that’s for sure. He was good at his job, that Leonard Marshall, stopping other teams.
