This boy, Kool-Aid McKinstry, he sure is somethin’. Heard he ran real fast, like a rabbit being chased by a fox. They say it’s called a 40-yard dash. Sounds silly to me, but what do I know?
Kool-Aid McKinstry 40 time, that boy can run!
They say he ran it in 4.47 seconds. Don’t know what that means, but it sounds mighty fast. Faster than my old mule, Bessie, that’s for sure. And get this, he did it with a hurt foot! A broke toe! Imagine that.
This Kool-Aid boy, he plays football. A cornerback, they call him. He’s from that Alabama place. Big football school, I hear.
- Kool-Aid McKinstry, that’s his name. Funny name, ain’t it?
- Plays for Alabama. Roll Tide, or somethin’ like that.
- He’s 21 years old. Still a young’un.
- He’s tall, over 6 feet, they say.
- Weighs almost 200 pounds. Solid boy.
I saw a picture of him. He’s a big fella. Strong looking. Probably could plow a field all by himself.
Now, this 40-yard dash thing, it’s important for football, I reckon. They time these boys to see how fast they can run. The faster the better, I guess. Helps ’em get drafted, whatever that means.
Kool-Aid McKinstry, he gonna be in the draft
They say this Kool-Aid fella is gonna be in the NFL draft. Some big to-do where the teams pick the players they want. Like pickin’ out the best pig at the county fair, I suppose.
Some folks think he’ll go in the first round. Others say the second. Don’t matter much to me. Just hope he does well. Seems like a good kid, even if he does have a funny name.
I remember back in my day, we didn’t have all these fancy tests and things. We just played. Ran as fast as we could cause we loved it. Not for no draft or money or nothin’.
This Kool-Aid McKinstry 40 time thing, it’s a big deal, I guess. Makes him worth more money, they say. Hope he knows how to handle it. Money can change a person.
- 4.47 seconds, that’s what they say he ran.
- With a hurt foot, too. Tough kid.
- Gonna make a lot of money, probably.
Alabama Pro Day, that’s where he ran it
They have these things called Pro Days. Where the players show off for the teams. Like a cattle auction, almost. This Kool-Aid McKinstry, he did his runnin’ at the Alabama Pro Day.
They say he might made himself some money. I guess, time will tell. It sure is a big fuss, for running fast.
Well, I hope this Kool-Aid McKinstry does alright. Seems like a good boy. And fast, too! Faster than a greased pig at a county fair, I bet. That 4.47, that’s movin’. Even with a bum foot.
Heard some people talking ’bout him, sayin’ he’s gonna be a star. Hope they’re right. Always nice to see a young fella do well.
He plays that cornerback position, where they gotta be fast and quick, chase those other boys around. I guess that Kool-Aid McKinstry 40 time is really important for that.
This football, it’s a big business now. Lots of money in it. More than I can understand, to tell you the truth. But if it makes him happy, that’s all that matters.
This boy gonna be a big star
From what I hear, this Kool-Aid boy, he’s got a good head on his shoulders. That’s important, even more than being fast. Gotta stay grounded, you know? Don’t let it all go to your head.
I remember this one time, back when I was a girl, there was this boy, he was the fastest runner in the county. Thought he was somethin’ special. Ended up no good. Too much pride, you see?
So I hope this Kool-Aid fella, he stays humble. Works hard. And remembers where he came from. That’s what’s important. All that fast runnin’ don’t mean nothin’ if you ain’t a good person.
Well, I gotta go. Got chores to do. But I’ll be keepin’ an eye on this Kool-Aid McKinstry. See how he does. Hope he makes it big. That 40 time is sure somethin’, ain’t it? A 4.47! With a bad foot! Lord have mercy, that boy can run.
