Okay, so, I got curious about this basketball player everyone’s talking about, JuJu Watkins. Specifically, I wanted to see if she was related to Jaime Jaquez Jr., another hoop star, ’cause I saw some stuff online, and you know how the internet is.
So, I dug into it. First, I checked out some articles about JuJu. Turns out, she’s the daughter of Robert Neal-Watkins and Sari Watkins. And get this, her great-grandpa started the Watts Labor Community Action Committee. Pretty cool, right?
Then I looked up Jaime Jaquez Jr. Turns out, he and his sister, Gabriela, are both at UCLA. Their parents, Jaime Sr. and Angela, also played in college. Seems like basketball runs deep in their family.
Was JuJu Watkins and Jaime Jaquez Jr. related?
- I compared their family info. JuJu’s parents are Robert and Sari. Jaime’s are Jaime Sr. and Angela. Not the same folks.
- I also found out JuJu was born on July 15, 2005. She’s got three siblings, too—Dami, Mar, and Mali.
So, after all that digging, it’s pretty clear that JuJu Watkins and Jaime Jaquez Jr. are NOT related. They’ve both got strong basketball families, but they’re different families.
Anyway, that’s my little investigation. Thought I’d share it in case anyone else was wondering about it. It’s always interesting to see where these amazing athletes come from, you know?
And that’s all there is to it. No relation, just two awesome basketball players doing their thing. No big mystery, just a bit of online confusion cleared up. Hope this was helpful, or at least a little bit interesting!
