Alright, let’s talk about this Josh Allen or Kyler Murray thing. It’s been rattling around in my head for a bit, especially with fantasy drafts kinda looming, you know?

So I sat down, really tried to hammer it out for myself. Where do I actually stand? It’s tougher than it looks on the surface.
My Process Kinda Went Like This
First off, you see the raw talent with both guys. It’s obvious. Josh Allen, man, the guy’s built like a tank, cannon for an arm, and he’ll run right over people. You see those highlights and think, yeah, that’s my QB1, easy.
But then, you flip over to Kyler Murray. Totally different style. Smaller guy, quick as lightning, incredible improviser. Makes plays out of absolutely nothing. That electric factor, it’s hard to ignore. He can win you a week all by himself when he’s on.
So, watching highlights wasn’t enough. Fun, sure, but not the whole picture. I started digging into the actual game logs from last season, not just the season totals. Looking week by week, trying to see the consistency, or lack thereof.
- Allen had those monster weeks, throwing bombs, running for TDs. But sometimes, turnovers popped up. Threw some ugly picks when trying to do too much.
- Murray, when healthy, was super consistent early on. Then that injury thing cropped up again. And the whole team dynamic in Arizona felt… weird sometimes, right?
Then I started thinking about the teams around them. Buffalo usually has a solid setup for Allen. Good coaching, decent weapons, though maybe the O-line worries you sometimes. Arizona? Man, it felt like a rollercoaster last year. Coaching changes, Hopkins suspended early… it makes a difference for a QB.
I also considered the rushing upside. Both guys run, which is huge for fantasy points. Allen feels more like a goal-line battering ram, while Murray gets his yards scrambling, weaving through defenders. Allen probably has the safer rushing floor touchdown-wise near the end zone, just because of his size and how they use him.
Honestly, I went back and forth quite a bit. One minute I’m sold on Allen’s ceiling and firepower. The next, I’m thinking about Murray’s potential to just explode any given Sunday if things click in that offense and he stays healthy.
Where I Landed (For Now)
After chewing on it, looking at the past stuff, and just thinking about who I’d feel more comfortable with week in and week out… I lean towards Josh Allen. It wasn’t easy, believe me.

My thinking is, his situation feels a bit more stable right now. The Bills offense, even with changes, seems built around his strengths. That rushing near the goal line is just too valuable to ignore. Yeah, he might have a few head-scratcher plays, but the highs are massive, and the floor feels generally safer than Murray’s, especially considering Murray’s injury history lately and the uncertainty around the Cardinals.
It feels like with Allen, you know what you’re getting, mostly. A high-end QB1 with league-winning upside. With Murray, there’s maybe a bit more guesswork involved, even if his ceiling is just as high when everything aligns.
So yeah, that’s my take after spending some time really trying to sort it out. Doesn’t mean Murray won’t prove me wrong, that’s the beauty of football. But for my money today, I’d go with Allen. Just feels like the slightly steadier play right now based on what I looked at.
