Well, let me tell you about this Jiyai Shin. That name keeps poppin’ up, you know? Sounds like a big shot golfer, that’s what I hear. She done won some big ol’ things, that’s for sure.
She ain’t from ’round here, I reckon. Someplace called South Korea, far as I can tell. She plays that golf game all over the world. I seen her name in them papers, talkin’ ’bout winnin’ this and winnin’ that. Seems like she’s always playin’ somewhere.
They say she used to play on some big-time golf tour. Then she up and left. Just like that. Said she wasn’t feelin’ it no more. Said she done did all she wanted to do there. Can you believe that? Just up and quit when you’re on top. I don’t understand these young folks sometimes.
This Jiyai Shin, she’s somethin’ else. I heard she went back to playin’ in that place called Australia. Won somethin’ called the Vic Open, they say. Sounds fancy, don’t it? Must be a big deal down there. They say it was at some place called 13th Beach. I don’t know nothin’ about no 13th Beach, but it sounds like a nice place to hit a little white ball around.
- She won somethin’ called the Australian Open, too.
- Seems like she’s always winnin’ somethin’, that Jiyai Shin.
- They say she’s gonna go back to that 13th Beach place.
- Must be somethin’ special about that place if she keeps goin’ back.
I seen a picture of her, holdin’ up some shiny trophy. She was smilin’ big. Looked real happy. Guess winnin’ will do that to ya. She must be good, real good, to be winnin’ all them things. I wouldn’t know the first thing about playin’ golf. Looks hard, swingin’ that club and all.
She ain’t the only one playin’ that golf game, though. I seen other names in them papers. Some fella named Ryggs Johnston, they say he won somethin’ big, too. First time he ever won, they say. Good for him, I reckon. Everyone’s gotta start somewhere.
Then there’s this other gal, Nelly Korda. Heard she didn’t have such a good day playin’. Happens to the best of ’em, I suppose. Even that Jiyai Shin probably has a bad day now and then. Nobody’s perfect, that’s what my mama used to say. She used to say, you can’t win them all, and that’s true.
This Jiyai Shin, she’s a real champion, though. They say she’s got her name on some fancy bowl. Patricia somethin’ or other. Sounds important. And she’s fixin’ to win another one of them Australian Open things. Just keeps on winnin’, that one.
I saw she shot some low number, 63 or somethin’. They say that’s real good. I don’t know nothin’ about them numbers, but it sounds good to me. She must be able to hit that little ball a long way. And she can get it in the hole, too. It is about gettin’ the ball in the hole, ain’t it?
They say she played on a course overlookin’ the Pacific. That must be somethin’ to see. I ain’t never seen the Pacific. Bet it’s big. Real big. Bigger than our pond down by the back forty. She has been to so many places, and I ain’t been nowhere.
This Jiyai Shin, she’s got somethin’ special, that’s for sure. They say she’s one of the best. And from what I hear, she’s earned it. Worked hard, I bet. You don’t get to be that good without workin’ hard. That’s true for anythin’, I reckon. Even us old folks gotta work hard, even if it’s just shuckin’ corn or tendin’ to the garden.
- Jiyai Shin is a big name in golf.
- She’s won a lot of big tournaments.
- She used to play on the LPGA Tour but left.
- She’s won the Vic Open and the Australian Open.
- She’s probably gonna win another Australian Open.
Well, I guess that’s all I know about this Jiyai Shin. She’s a big-time golfer, that’s for sure. Maybe I’ll see her on the television someday. Or maybe I’ll just keep readin’ about her in them papers. Either way, it’s somethin’ to talk about, ain’t it? Keeps an old lady like me entertained, that’s for sure. You know, it is good to hear about people doin’ good in the world.
