Alright, so you wanna know ’bout this fella, John Cena, huh? Well, lemme tell ya, he’s a big deal, like real big. Folks on TV, they call it “sports entertainment,” but back in my day, we just called it wrestlin’. And this Cena fella, he’s one of the best, or so they say.
I ain’t watched too much of it myself, all that jumpin’ around and fake punchin’. But my grandkids, they love it. They yell and scream at the TV, “Cena! Cena!” He’s like a superhero to them, all muscles and grunts. He wears them bright, flashy clothes, you know, the kind that make your eyes hurt. And he’s always got that goofy grin on his face, even when he’s supposed to be angry.
They say he’s won a whole bunch of championships, more than 15, I heard. Don’t rightly know what that means, but it sounds important. He’s been wrestlin’ since like 2001, that’s a long time, even longer than I’ve been makin’ my apple pies. He used to do it full-time, but now, he’s only there sometimes. Guess he got tired of all that jumpin’ around.
- He wrestled a fella named The Rock. Big muscles on that one too.
- They fought at somethin’ called WrestleMania. Sounds fancy, huh?
- My grandkids said it was a real good match, lots of yelling and slamming.
Now, they tellin’ me this Cena fella, he ain’t just wrestlin’ no more. He’s gone and got himself into them Hollywood movies. Yep, he’s an actor now, just like them fellas on the silver screen. I saw him in a movie once, playin’ a soldier or somethin’. He was alright, I guess. Didn’t smile as much as he does when he’s wrestlin’. Maybe they told him not to.
He left the wrestlin’ pretty much cause he’s too busy with them movies. Had a match against another fella named Roman Reigns, then poof, he was gone. My grandkids were sad, but I told ‘em, “He’ll be back, them fellas always come back.” Wrestlin’ is like that, you know, they just keep comin’ back for more.
And get this, they say he’s got a whole bunch of money, like 80 million dollars or somethin’. Can you imagine? That’s more money than I’ve seen in my whole life, even if you count all the chickens I’ve sold over the years! Guess all that wrestlin’ and movie makin’ pays real good.
Folks talkin’ ‘bout him retirin’ soon. That JBL fella, another wrestler I reckon, he’s been yappin’ about it. But I don’t know, seems to me these fellas never really retire. They just keep comin’ back, one last match, one last hurrah. It’s in their blood, I guess, like the way I gotta make them apple pies every Sunday.
So, that’s the lowdown on John Cena, as far as I can tell ya. He’s a wrestler, an actor, and a rich fella. He’s been around for a long time, and folks seem to like him. Whether he’s slammin’ folks in the ring or makin’ movies in Hollywood, he’s always puttin’ on a show. And that’s all that really matters, ain’t it? A good show.
One more thing, they say he was born in 1977, same year my Betsy got married. Funny how things connect, ain’t it? Two different worlds, but somehow, they both got John Cena in ‘em.
