Okay, so, I’ve been a huge wrestling fan since I was a kid, and I finally got to go to a WWE event in Bakersfield. It was at the Mechanics Bank Arena, and let me tell you, it was a wild ride from start to finish.
First off, I started planning this months in advance. I kept an eye out for when the tickets would go on sale. Saw something online about upcoming events, like the Royal Rumble and stuff, but this one was a “WWE Live” event, which I figured would be smaller but still awesome. I was watching their website like a hawk, waiting for the date and time to drop.
When the announcement finally came out – it was going to be on Saturday, September 17th, at 7:30 PM – I was all over it. I remember seeing something about it being part of a larger tour or something, but honestly, I was just focused on getting those tickets.
Getting the tickets was a whole mission in itself. I got online right when they went on sale, and man, it was a frenzy. I spent a good hour refreshing the page, trying different seating options. Prices were all over the place, anywhere from like 60 bucks to some crazy VIP packages that cost more than my rent! I ended up snagging a decent seat in the middle section – not too close, not too far. Paid around, I think, 150 dollars? It was a bit of a splurge, but I figured, why not?
The day of the event, I was hyped. I got there early, saw a bunch of people tailgating, wearing their favorite wrestler’s shirts. The energy was electric. Once inside, the arena was packed. I found my seat, which turned out to be a pretty good spot. I could see the ring clearly, and the giant screen above helped catch all the details.
The show itself was a blast. There were some big names there, which was cool, but also some newer faces I hadn’t seen before. They had all sorts of matches – singles, tag teams, even a women’s match. Each match was more exciting than the last. The crowd was super into it, cheering and booing, it was awesome.
One of the highlights for me was this crazy tag team match. These guys were flying all over the place, jumping off the ropes, doing all these insane moves. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. At one point, one of the wrestlers got thrown out of the ring, right near where I was sitting! It was wild.
Here’s a breakdown of the night:
- Getting there: Drove to the Mechanics Bank Arena, which was easy to find. Parking was a bit of a nightmare, but that’s expected.
- Atmosphere: Totally electric. Everyone was so excited, and the energy was contagious.
- Matches: A great mix of different types of matches. Lots of high-flying action and drama.
- Crowd: Super into it. Lots of cheering, booing, and chanting. Made the whole experience even better.
- Overall: An unforgettable night. Definitely worth the money and the hassle of getting tickets.
By the end of the night, I was exhausted but in the best way possible. I lost my voice from all the cheering, but it was totally worth it. It was one of those experiences that I’ll remember for a long time. If you’re a wrestling fan and you get a chance to go to a WWE event, even a smaller one like this, I say do it. You won’t regret it.
I think I am going to make plans to go to the Royal Rumble next year, which I saw is gonna be in Indianapolis on February 1st, 2025. It is gonna be a much bigger thing than this event was, but hey you only live once. I might need to start saving up now though, those tickets are probably gonna be expensive, not to mention travel and hotel, it’s not like I live in Indianapolis.
