Okay, here’s my experience with James Conner in my 2024 fantasy football league:
So, I’ve been playing fantasy football for a few years now, and this year I was really trying to up my game. I did a ton of research beforehand, you know, looking at all the usual stats and projections. One name that kept popping up was James Conner. Now, I’ll be honest, I wasn’t totally sold on him at first. But the more I dug, the more I started to see his potential.
When the draft came around, I had a strategy, and Conner was a part of it, but not my top priority. I snagged some big names early, and then waited, I watched as other players were picked. Conner was still available later than I expected. I think a lot of folks were sleeping on him, which was fine by me.
I grabbed him in the middle rounds, and honestly, it was one of the best decisions I made. The dude was a workhorse. It seemed like every week, he was getting a ton of touches. And not just carries, but he was catching passes too. It was great!
- He was super consistent. Even on his “off” weeks, he was still getting me decent points.
- He was a touchdown machine, especially near the goal line. That’s what you really want.
- I felt good, and I started him almost every single week. He became my solid running back 2 for a long time.
I heard the news about the Cardinals drafting Trey Benson, I was a little nervous. I thought my running back position was going to get a big hit. I even tried to trade him away.
The season went on, I kept starting Conner. He kept doing pretty good. I won some games I probably shouldn’t have, thanks to Conner’s performance, he’s definitely one of the main reasons I did so well in my league this year.
All in all, picking James Conner was a win for me. He may not be the flashiest player out there, but he’s reliable and gets the job done. If you’re looking for a solid running back in your fantasy league next year, don’t sleep on James Conner. I know I won’t be.
Looking ahead to next year, I’m definitely keeping an eye on Conner. I think he’s still got some good football left in him. He proved to me that he can be a valuable asset on a fantasy team. I’m hoping he lands in a good situation, and I’ll be ready to draft him again if the opportunity comes. We’ll see what happens, but I’m feeling pretty good about it.
I learned a lot in this experience. Drafting is important but I have to adjust my strategy during the whole season.
Draft Notes
Conner might go a little later in drafts than he should, which means you can probably get him at a good value.
Remember that he’s a bit older now, so there’s always a chance of injury. You might want to handcuff him with another running back on the Cardinals, just in case.
Keep an eye on the Cardinals’ offensive line. If they’re looking strong, that’s a good sign for Conner.
