So, I was messing around today, trying to figure out what to focus on. The name Angelo Dawkins popped into my head. You know, from the Street Profits? Yeah, that guy. Always brings the hype.

I remember watching their entrance a while back, and man, Dawkins just explodes with energy. It’s infectious, right? So, I thought, why not try and capture a bit of that? Just for kicks. Wasn’t planning on becoming a wrestler or anything, just needed a bit of a pick-me-up myself, felt kinda flat.
Getting Started – The Hype Attempt
First thing I did was pull up some videos. Just watched him during the entrances and some celebrations. The way he moves, the dancing, shouting – it’s a whole performance. Gotta respect the commitment.
Then, I actually tried it. Yeah, in my living room. Put on some music, not their theme, just something upbeat. Tried doing that shoulder shake thing he does, you know? And the pointing, stirring up the imaginary crowd.
Here’s how it went down:
- Felt incredibly goofy at first. Like, really awkward.
- Almost took out a lamp with a wild arm gesture. Note to self: clear more space next time.
- Tried the high knees running in place thing. Way more tiring than it looks. Seriously, the dude’s cardio must be insane just for the entrance.
- Attempted the signature “stirring the pot” or whatever you call it. My version looked more like I was confused about how to use a spoon.
What I Realized
Okay, so I didn’t suddenly become the life of the party. No surprises there. But it was actually kinda fun. Shook off that sluggish feeling I had. It’s funny how just physically acting energetic can make you feel a bit more alive. Didn’t last long, mind you, I was knackered after like five minutes.
It made me think, though. It’s easy to just watch guys like Dawkins and say, “Oh, he’s just loud.” But there’s a real skill to performing like that, night after night. Keeping that energy level sky-high, making it look natural, connecting with people. It’s a craft.
Reminds me a bit of this awful team meeting I had last week. Everyone was half-asleep, including the guy running it. Zero energy. Just monotone droning for an hour. Maybe we should’ve hired Dawkins to run the meeting? Probably would’ve been more productive, or at least more entertaining. Could you imagine him hyping up the quarterly budget report? “WE WANT THE SPREADSHEETS!” Haha.
Anyway, that was my little experiment for the day. Didn’t master the Dawkins hype, probably never will, but it was a decent way to waste some time and get the blood pumping. Gotta give the man his props for the energy he brings.
