Hey everyone, I spent a lot of time figuring out how to request a trade on MLB The Show 24, and I am gonna share my experience with you guys. It’s a little bit different from what I expected.
Contacting Your Agent
First, I launched the game and jumped straight into “Road to the Show” mode. You know, the mode where you create your player and try to make it big. Once I was in, I looked for the “My Player” menu. That’s where all the magic happens, right? So, I navigated to “Interactions.” This is where you can do all sorts of things with your player’s career, like talk to your teammates and, importantly, your agent. I found the option to “Contact Agent” and chose it. It felt like a big step, like I was really taking control of my player’s destiny.
Trade Request Option Missing
Now, here’s where things got a little weird. In previous versions of MLB The Show, there used to be a clear option to request a trade. You could tell your agent you weren’t happy with your current team and wanted out. But in MLB The Show 24, that option was gone. Vanished. Disappeared. I searched and I searched, but it just wasn’t there. I went back, checked everything, but nope, nothing.
Exploring Other Options
Since I couldn’t directly request a trade through my agent, I decided to explore other options. I went into “Franchise” mode. There’s a setting called “Force Trades.” I thought, “Maybe this is it!” So, I turned it on. Then, I went to the trade screen, hoping to make the trade happen. This part was pretty straightforward. You just pick the players you want to trade and make the swap. But it felt kind of forced, you know? It wasn’t the same as having my player request a trade himself.
The 10 & 5 Rule
I also learned about something called the “10 & 5 Rule.” Apparently, if a player has been in the major league for 10 full seasons and on the same team for the last five, he can’t be traded without his consent. That’s pretty interesting, and it adds a layer of realism to the game. But it also meant that if my player met those conditions, I might not be able to trade him even if I wanted to.
Conclusion
So, after all that, I realized that directly requesting a trade in MLB The Show 24 isn’t as simple as it used to be. You can still make trades happen through “Franchise” mode, but it’s not the same as having your player initiate the trade. I am a bit disappointed, to be honest. I liked the old way better. It felt more personal and realistic. But hey, that’s how it is.
Anyway, I hope this helps some of you guys out there who might be struggling with the same thing. It’s a bit of a bummer, but we gotta make do with what we have, right? Keep playing, keep enjoying the game, and who knows, maybe they’ll bring back the old trade request feature in future updates. Fingers crossed!
