Alright, guys, so let’s talk about this whole “requesting a trade” thing in MLB The Show. I recently dove back into “Road to the Show” mode, and I wanted to shake things up a bit with my player. So I thought, “Why not try to get traded?”
First off, I started a new “Road to the Show” career. Got my player all set up, and we started playing some games. I was hitting dingers, making some sweet plays in the field, you know, the usual. But I was stuck on a team that, well, let’s just say we weren’t exactly contenders. I wanted to see if I could force a move to a better team.
Starting the Process
I looked around in the menus and found this “Interactions” section. Figured that’s where I’d find something related to trades. And there it was, “Request Trade.” Seemed simple enough, right? I selected it and got a few prompts to make sure I really wanted to do this. I confirmed it, thinking, “Alright, let’s do this!”
The Waiting Game
Now, this is where it got a little weird. After I requested the trade, nothing happened immediately. It’s not like you click the button, and bam, you’re on a new team. I played a few more games, kept performing well, hoping that would speed things up. I even started having these little chats with my in-game agent. We talked about my performance, my goals, but there was never a direct option to push for a trade in those conversations. It was more like beating around the bush.

Trying Other Options
I thought maybe there was another way to go about this. I remember hearing something about talking to your manager. So, I tried to initiate some conversations with the manager. But again, there was no clear-cut option to say, “Hey, I want out of here.” It was more like, I could express some general frustration or talk about my role on the team, but that was about it.
The Result
Honestly, it felt like I was hitting a wall. Even with the conversations with the agent and good performance on the field, there was just no clear way to request a trade. I kept playing, hoping something would change, but it never really did. It’s like the game acknowledged my request but didn’t really act on it in any meaningful way.
So, after all that, I’m still on the same team. It’s a bit of a bummer, but I guess that’s just how it goes sometimes. Maybe there’s some secret sauce I’m missing, or maybe the game just wants you to ride it out with your team, no matter what. If any of you have figured out a foolproof way to get traded, let me know.
